Paypal is the quickest to act because they have direct control over their service. So do 2CO and Alertpay/Payza, Moneybookers slightly less so but still quick. Mastercard and Visa take time. The credit card company's brand risk team need to consult with the region, then the region with the bank providing the merchant account then the bank need to go back up the line. So it can take days to weeks to cut off Visa and Mastercard. However it's being done, as we speak 14 sites will lose all ability to process any major credit card, through 3rd party processors or their own merchant account. So offshore is an option if you resort to Webmoney (russia) or Bitcoin or similar. The fact is that cutting off popular western payment options will kill these sites, they will simply run out of cash. |

Wow 1.6K already donated in less than a day. Now I feel like a cheap ass loser for not donating yet.
AK PLEASE add paxum - I do not have a paypal account, and do not even want one because of all those horror stories of them banning anything adult related. I'm sure RuthB will be happy to assist you to get your paxum account running in no time. I also want to provide ongoing financial support of your campaign, and paxum has an option to set up recurring payments - it'll be way more easy and convenient than to send payments manually each week.

The donations are appreciated but I'm not begging for them. I was always prepared to fund this out of my own pocket, however some people wanted to contribute so I provided the best most transparent way I could find. I appreciate everyone's support. |

Of course you're not begging, I know it and never implied otherwise. But I WANT to help. And I simply do not have paypal account.
You can export your transactions report from paxum account and publish it weekly for transparency.

I have a Paxum account that is already verified, but I have never activated the card so any donation would be swallowed initially by the card fee. I'll put a paxum button on the website and see what happens, assuming I can put one on where people can set their own amount. |

I sure am hope you are right for the sake of our industry, but so far nobody could pull it off and many folks tried. Word on the street is that PayPal might actually own a few of the largest one or at least hold a sizable stake in them.

Is it safe just to publish a special Paxum email address I created for my account to receive Paxum donations ? I don't know much about Paxum, other than I have a card which hasn't been activated yet.

I have just killed, thanks to Paypal, an Azureshare reseller that Azureshare was trying to use to get around their own Paypal termination.

I think it's safe, as this e-mail address will be visible anyway in the donation form. Or you can simply send your account ID to those who want to donate, to make sure it is not known to our adversaries. Please send it to me first

This thread is a bit too long for me to see if this hasn't been posted yet, but just thought I'd add in that I've seen a filsharing site for sale on Flippa.com. Apparently it's one of the 3 biggest free file sharing sites out there. (it's item 2763431)

They have the option "Do you want to let your customer change order quantities?", I think you can set a price of one item to one dollar, and then let ppl choose however many of those "items" they want. That's a bit awkward, but workable and pretty close to what you need - maybe a little bit of text under the button to clue people in will help to make it work seamlessly.

Why do most of those monkeys over at wj think that trying to stop people from profiting from others work, equals killing off piracy?
99% of them are there for the profits, not for the piracy. |

Yea, no shit. Piracy will never go away. Thanks for that, retard. But you won't be pirating my content. And the methods in which you pirate may change, as will the ease of how you do it. That part is inevitable. When it's all said and done it will be back underground in usenet, where it should be. Of course piracy will never end, because there will always be freeloaders and broke asses who can't afford to buy it or refuse to pay for something. In the real world we call those people thieves. Online, they don't think of themselves in that manner, but offline, the very same act would land them in court and possibly in jail. |

Lots of very annoyed people in the FileDefend.com , FileRose.com , Squillion.com, Filemates.com, Exabit.com and PigSonic.com threads over at WJunction.
Today has been a bad day for them all. I'm so pleased |

Sent some motivation your way via ChipIn / Paypal
Anyone else, if you can spare even $5 - send it via this link http://www.chipin.com/contribute/id/1fec945efacbb585 or click on the ChipIn widget on StopFileLockers.com - every little bit helps, and if it's only for motivation and to piss off the guys on the other side of the fence, because they fume over every dollar StopFileLockers.com raises

On a serious note - you've shown enough determination to go on with the project until file lockers are no more, and I'm equally determined to follow it through until the very end and support it in every way possible, including financial support.

No, it does not make sense since if paypal takes down a little site on the basis of it hosting illegal content then why does it not take down the larger sites for doing the same thing. You're so good now you can influence paypal to take down these tiny sites in hours, and yet Bitshare are back and we'll see if depositfiles has any problems at all within a week. When will you realise paypal seem to have now ring fenced the big sites with this new pre- approval scheme. Hotfile, depositfiles, rapidshare, there is no need for precedents they are all the same they allow uploading of illegal material. If paypal will shut down a tiny site on that basis they should be forced to shut down all sites doing exactly the same thing. It really does not matter if they have an affiliate scheme or not, i don't care if some indian gets a cut or the filelocker keeps every penny. It's the fact they host the illegal files that is the problem. Paypal just want to look like they are doing something.... you seem so happy about taking some sites out that nobody even knows about that you are failing to see they are actually using you to make themselves look good whilst now ensuring they will NEVER stop processing for the big filelockers that do the main damage. Their new pre-approval terms look like they were developed to make these huge sites untouchable, whilst they tell visa/mastercard look we remove filelockers (that have no traffic). Counter action? - so paypal can terminate some tiny filelockers account since they host illegal files, however large filelockers may kick paypals ass for trying the same thing?? strange world in which we live. If you spent less time here self congratulating yourself with doing nothing so far other than take out these tiny shits that mean NOTHING, and took down a couple of large sites ppl have heard of and use then you would have far less critics. I have just read that you're 45 years old?? yet you have the mentality of a spoiled teenager. Take some constructive criticism and get on with doing something useful. No point on updating the thread and constantly ranting on about these tiny little shitty sites. You are receiving funds now to do some good work, not sit around on here self congratulating yourself. From now on don't chase these litte sites set up by kids for a hobby, you are wasting time. I see more of these popping up daily still. How many more tiny sites do we need to discuss here before a precedent is set?? Force paypal to take down a few of their money machine sites (huge filelockers) and they will blanket ban the entire lot of them. Fill your sites with the big ones concentrate on them. When in 6 months all are still there and you realise that paypal will never give up that revenue, and in turn visa/master card will never kick paypal. You start to realise how the world works, if you're a big player or bro you get to do what the fuck you want. |

These lockers have recurring memberships for every month even if you don't visit for days, weeks or months that recurring billing takes place . I would seriously love to know the numbers for that. Paypals biggest single business is quite possibly filelockers. |

I wish it was them (tubes) first. Most people you talk to how enjoy their porn straight away list all the biggest porn tube sites. Yeah a few have heard of rapidshare and depositfiles, but a surprising low %. Most don't want to pay for it at all and can't be bothered to find the all links and wait for them to download for hours . Tubes are all they need. Tubes don't just take away the need for porn achive memberships, they also suck up all the cams, dating and any other revenue streams. Sure some have looked to go a little more legit of late, but still they have caused 100X more damage to the industry than any lockers or torrents, and continue to do so. Some of the content producers hate lockers more, but that is simply because they believe seeing their content all over tubes in a lower resolution will perhaps persuade people to join via the watermark for full membership. That is a very small % and because they are so short sighted they don't realise that if there were none of the large illegal tubes a lot more people would be joining over all. They are willing to put up with some tiny scraps left over from the tubes and for some reason believe all their sales vanished into file lockers. This is simply not the case. When xvideos was down just for a short period, just that 1 site, lots of people reported a significant rise in traffic and sales. The size of some of these tubes dwarfs filelockers, you will notice no rise in sales or very little increase even if all are gone. Take down the largest tubes and see what happens. What is sickening to watch is people that have totally raped the porn industry with illegal tubes preaching about filelockers on some moral grounds. Then enemy of my enemy is my friend is not true in this case. Both need to be gone, but only tubes will make a large difference to this industry. |

Nice edit
But now you understand why Paypal / eBay will have to comply, because if any of this hits the mainstream news and / or goes viral, eBay is in a world of shit and their shareholders will not be happy campers at all. And I know you are passionate about tubes, but please just believe that the global plan of all this includes a solution for that as well, Rome wasn't built in a day, either - give it some time. Please.

As for which one is worse, that's predicated on the nature of original content. If we're talking mainstream porn, the tubes have done the most damage by far. Niche and micro niche content on the other hand is harder to find on the tubes, but ridiculously easy to locate on the file sharing forums. Tubes tend to be a little more responsive to DMCA take down notices as well. On file sharing forums it's not unusual to see a half dozen file locker links to the exact same file in just one single post. All of which will be re-uploaded 5, 6 or even 10 times before the upload monkeys see no further value in uploading it yet again. Comparing tubes to file lockers is like comparing a toothache to a broken ankle. They both suck and they both need to be addressed, but they can't both be dealt with in the same manner. .
