Which of these is a better option for adding to a blog for updates?

Also, will using freehosted video links hurt in terms of SEO if I just link to the hosted video files?

If you're not hosting the videos then you're losing out on google video search traffic.

Would also stick with flowplayer, use mp4s as they render as html5 where possible and flash where not, cross browser/device compliant.
