Do you think it's about the top 400 richest people fucking over the rest of us by scamming on their taxes and breaking our unions?

And don't give me that bullshit about them working hard. If hard work led to wealth, women in Africa would be wiping their asses with platinum-foil.

Yes, some people work hard, and with a bit of luck (and help) they can change their socioeconomic status. That's great. But it doesn't happen very often.

Paris Hilton is rich because she works hard? If she put coke up her nose all day long, she'd still be rich. She was born that way. So was Mitt. And they BOTH should pay higher taxes before we cut one schoolteacher or firefighter.

If making $250,000 a year seems uber-rich you need to make better career choices.

Are you so simple minded that you can not see that their lower % still equals more $ paid?

and I'm not far right, I'm not Republican or Democrat or any of that bullshit. I agree/disagree with things on both sides, I just don't believe in punishing people for being wealthy, I think everyone should pay their "fair" share. and not be taxed extra for making 250K per year. wtf is this crap? doesn't seem equal or fair at all if one person has to pay something and another doesn't. I also don't believe in hand-outs I work hard for my money. If some one is collecting welfare or whatever, then the state should put them to work for it. sweep streets, cut grass, paint building, work daycare or whatever... I just don't believe in enabling people to be lazy and sit on their ass while others pay for it.

SO? Why should Mitt pay a lower percentage than you? Why?

If Mitt and his friends paid the same percentage as you - *POOF* there goes our debt problem.

America can't afford rich deadbeats any longer. The special treatment they get is breaking the backs of the rest of us.

You do realize that they have thousands of employee's all paying taxes from money earned from working at their company right? What if they just said fuck it and closed shop, or moved out of country, Then how bad would that hurt the economy?

Oh...well there is that. The GFY deep thinkers always get hung up on percentages.

I pay well into the millions annually in taxes. Yet I still have to share the hiways with minivan drivers. I should get my own lane to drive my Lambo on.The Army doesn't come and mow my lawns. In reality, there is nothing extra I get from the federal govenment that a person paying $5g a year in taxes doesn't get.

So someone tell me how that is fair.

I think she is really so popular because a lot of woman can relate to her. As a father, and a domestic partner, I think they have both done a lot to make themselves appeal to the middle class which Mitt just can't do. He's way to 1% for most people despite being a dedicated father, and husband.

I don't think the current administration has been 100% for the past 4 years, but I would much rather have the devil I know, instead of the devil I don't.

"Top 10 Percent of Earners Paid 71 Percent of Federal Income Taxes

Top earners are the target for new tax increases, but the federal income tax system is already highly progressive. The top 10 percent of income earners paid 71 percent of all federal income taxes in 2009 though they earned 43 percent of all income. The bottom 50 percent paid 2 percent of income taxes but earned 13 percent of total income. About half of tax filers paid no federal income tax at all."

Is this true? If so I think that's more than a fair share.

"Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers,' he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. 'Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.

But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.

So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 ( 22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. 'I only got a dollar out of the $20,' declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10! ''Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too.. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I! '

'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks! '

'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor! '

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man ( the richest) didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction.

Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier."

Companies moving out of the country? Think they want to lose the government contracts? I'm not worried.

I'm disturbed by the whole mindset that we need to suck the cocks of the rich. I see it more and more. It's weak.

Better suck their cocks or the rich won't "give us jobs".

Better suck their cocks or the rich will just leave.

Better give em all the tax breaks and regulation rollbacks they want...or they'll send us to our rooms without dinner.

Fuck that. Stop fearing the rich. From 1950 - 1963 the top tax rate was 91 fucking %. Was there a mass exodus of the wealthy then?

It seems I need to rephrase my question.

What do I get from the federal government for my $1m+ in taxes that the teacher doesn't get for his/her $5k in taxes?

The answer - Nothing. We get the exact same in benefits and services from the federal government.

If you agree with that. Why am I paying 200+ times more for exactly the same thing as the teacher.

I don't agree with that. In order to build a personal fortune, as you have, one needs more than just a strong work ethic. There are very hard working people in third-world countries that will never be rich. Why? In order to become wealthy, a healthy economic system, the rule of law, protection of property rights, government oversight of industries, a modern infrastructure, an educated workforce, military defense, etc are all crucial. All things that cost money, and plenty of it.
You have benefited monetarily from these things more than a schoolteacher - you have the fortune to prove it. Without those elements in place, for which we all pay, you simply could not have amassed the fortune you have.

Who is likely to utilize our legal system more - a porn producer or a teacher? Who is more likely to make money utilizing the government-created internet - a porn producer or a teacher?

Putting that point aside, the teacher can't pay "200 + times more" because, obviously, he or she receives a modest teacher's salary. Should:

A. There be no teachers?

B. Teacher salary should rise dramatically so they can pay the same as you?

The whole argument is fucking absurd. Forget it. Just go drive your fancy car and curse at the teacher-driven minivans clogging your road, and dwell on how unfair it all is. :disgust

Wow. Well, I guess we should cut their taxes some more then, and roll back a few more regulations. After all, it's their country, and they just let us live here.

If they wanna go, let them. They'll want access to the American market, right? Tariff the fuck outta their imports. Deny them any US government contracts. There are a whole 9 items (Count them 9) on that page. If I were to list all the flip-flops of Obama I could probably fill 10 pages.

I agree, Mitt has made WAAAAAAYY more than 9 flip/flops. That webmaster needs to update that shit.

Obama flips more than Romney? You have got to be fucking kidding me.

Mitt's positions flip more than a crack house mattress.

I always find it amazing that Obama supporters just can't believe that Obama would flip-flop on any issue. Pick an issue any issue, it's practically assured that he has flip-flopped on it since the campaign of 2007 and 2008.
Medical marijuana is a very good example, not that I give a sh*t about medical marijuana but it's a perfect example.

?I should put Obama?s picture on the wall up there,? said one New Jersey gun salesman, asking not to be identified. ?I?d name him salesman of the month!?

Granted it's not unusual for a politician to change direction - but Mitt has taken it to a level never before seen.

This has more Romney flips than the last link. Includes references. He's just ridiculous.

Devastating video evidence. Jesus. This is must-see. Recording devices are Mitt's worst enemy.

Yup. Nothing like Obama to get all the hicks running to buy more guns. They don't know it's Romney that has banned guns. http://www.businessinsider.com/mitt-...theater-2012-7
