People that buy $80 jeans are morons. They look the same as $20 jeans.

They may look the same, but they aren't made the same. That is the key difference. I'm more interested in a quality, lasting handmade product.

It's nice that the jeans are made in the USA; although the material is probably made in lovely factories in China, India, Pakistan et al.

I wear jeans every day, Levi, Wrangler, Lee. None more than $25 and never have an issue. Same jeans for many years.

Well you must be buying some magic jeans.

I'll agree that paying over $200 for jeans just for a logo is dumb but quality clothing is something that will always save you money in the long run.

Americans don't mass produce jeans

What happens if a project only raises 20% of the money they needed?
Also what if someone gets 200k and just runs with the money?

I believe that if only 20% is raised then the project is not fully funded and the pledge does not complete at the end.

If someone needs $20K and they end up with a lot more than that then that money goes towards filling the "rewards" that go along with the pledge. So in the case of Gustin Jeans. They take that $ overage and fill the overage jean rewards associated with the pledges.

But what if they don't? If they just take the money and run?

Agreed. My expensive jeans have lasted years. The cheep ones fall apart after a few months.

and the $20 never look as good as the $80+ jeans.

I recently went to by a pair of jeans.. I looked at the at the $20 stuff.. I didn't like the fit and finish. I ended up buying a $70 pair of Daniel cremieux jeans and much prefer the quality.
