Anyone shooting video with a DSLR?

I've seen some great results with the Canon 7D and 5D. Anyone using a DSLR setup for scenes or know of sites that are?

pretty much most "glamcore" sites like babes.com, passion-hd.com, x-art.com, sexart.com etc.

not all and every scene - but a lot of them

I have a 7D but haven't used it for video "yet" although I am planning to, just to at least check it out.
Possibly even tomorrow, actually! ;-)

I have a Canon 5DMkII and a 60D. I also have a Sony FS100 that I prefer over the Canon options. From image quality to workflow, the FS100 (and the upgraded 700) is better for video than a DSLR.

But that's just my

They are capable of shooting very nice quality images at a fraction of past costs.

For independent filmmaking was HUGE.

Again. Cost.

Until recently, a camera that did what most of these DSLRs often went for 10 times as much as the 5DMkII. Very similar images, especially after post production and compression for the web.

RED just had to drastically reduce their prices because of DSLRs, Sony's line and the new Black Magic Cinema Camera.

I do not shoot professional adult content, but I shoot quite a bit of mainstream video content on my Nikon D5100.

What I love about it is that I already have all of these amazing lenses that produce just gorgeous bokeh (Nikkor 50mm prime 1.2, and the Tamron 70-300mm are my favs), and to be able to bring that same quality to video with a camera body that costs well less than $1k makes for some truly professional looking content at a FRACTION of the cost of a 'professional' video rig.

Is this type of rig also used in porn, though? I've been stuck trying to use my DSLR 60D in POV shots without getting too much jiggle and lack of focus tracking. Can't get a result I'm happy with yet, so I'm still using my video camera for that.

How can you keep the subject in focus without an assistant?

No long zoom lenses and the lenses are still lenses not cinema lenses, meaning they change exposure focus and tracking with they zoom.

The important factors are lighting acting costumes and set not what camera is used.

Selling cameras are big business but lighting is the crucial factor that no one talks about.

That's really the biggest issue. But I don't shoot porn and if I'm using a DSLR...it's on a tripod.

Have you tried using one of the "steady cam" setups or a lens with image stabilization?

Same setup I am using. Surprisingly good results for such an inexpensive setup. I'll get the techniques down then upgrade lenses and body.
