Maybe I was naive to the methods but the only way I could figure out how to generate traffic with AOL back then was to put a link to a page in my profile talking about how I was paying for college by modeling, and I would appreciate if they would check out my naughty pics. When I first started selling software, I actually had aol blocked because they were such a huge support burden. I didn't want their money. It wasn't worth it.

AOL was a pure gold mine for a lot of people for a very long time. But like we've seen in a lot of the internet booms and busts, they eventually tend to run their course. Although there still seems to be plenty who use AOL IM and email accounts for whatever reason.
