I would think if it was found out that it was all a set-up masterminded by members of the US government and the story with the proof was published/run by a major mainstream news group it would quickly become a huge story and I think all hell would break loose.

People would be calling for the heads of those behind it and I think many of those who were affected or involved in any way by it might then sue the government.

If all of the people involved in the set-up were from one party it might be a near death blow for that party as well.

It depends on who was behind it.

Obviously I don't believe in any of these conspiracy theories....

But if it was proved that another government did this, it would mean.

If the Bush administration was behind it, most likely Bush and a number of his government would be arrested. It surely would be the trial of the year.

The problem is there no one who stood to gain from 9/11. You can argue the American defense industry stood to gain, but that doesn't add for me. They could have done a lot less damage to cause a war, and I question how much money they stood to gain. Did we order new ships, tanks, or planes because of the war? I don't believe we did. Anything we did order over the past ten years wasn't because of Afghanistan, but instead because we buy / build new planes / tanks / ships on a regular basis.

Then there is the fact that no one has talked... Someone would have said something by now.

The 'nuke' and the terrorist could have been tied to any country. It would have been an excuse to go after whoever and whatever they wanted.

How does a passport in someones pocket, fly out of his pocket through a crashed plane into a burning building and end up blocks away for someone to just pick it up and identify it. I mean come on man. Not to mention, the twin towers and building 7 are the only buildings in HISTORY to fall from a fire. Buildings have burned 8 - 10 floors for over 20 hours and never fell. The way the towers were built, the floors would have collapsed onto the next floor, it wouldn't have been an 8 second free fall.

Yes it does, if you are making the point of an example where a government lie was used to escalate war against a foreign nation then fine. Another example is the desperate attempt to tie Iraq to 911 and provide proof of WMDs in Iraq after 911 to the point of having colin Powell lie and present false information to the UN security council to convince the world of the need to invade Iraq. This is where the crime of the administration rests.

If you think about this it really says a lot, if the goal was to invade Iraq and use 911 as the pretext for invasion why not have Iraqis piloting the planes and why not actually just find some fucking wmds in iraq. why have Saudis (US allies) doing the dirty work.
