So, you close your site, cutting off traffic to programs that do pay so that you can remove their content and links? Brilliant plan of action. I of course would have opted to leave the site live and just remove their stuff. But again, that's just me.

You, as an affiliate promoting many programs through your site, have shut down your site because one program did not pay you?

Why not just remove their promo tools/content from your site without shutting down your site?

What about lost revenue, potential google penalty for downtime, etc?

It's a website, not a brick and mortar shop where you just hang the "be right back" sign if you have to run to the store.

Keep all the text and titles just change the actual promo content, pics, vids and banners to a closely matching sponsor, that way you keep all the seo traffic and will get some sales too.

Using my CM I pulled over 300 posts that were promoting Clint Work's (owner of Sensational) websites. Even still I kept the content ready to publish again incase he pulls his head out of his ass. There was no down time for Puffychicks.com or Chubbygirls.tv when content was removed.

I would delete the domain too, if I were you.

That would show them.

If that's what you have to do then I agree with you. It's much better than leaving the links up because then these people see that they can do this and their links will stay up for years because webmasters are too lazy to remove them.

I would just search on the server for their links and automatically have them replaced and then replace the content as I have time. If they don't like it then let them pay up what they owe.

You're welcome. People give you shit but if everyone did what you did then affiliates would be scammed much less. I'll see if I can dig up an awk command or something later tonight to help you find or replace all their links if you have your sites on a linux server. It would be good for all of us to have on hand.
