Watching the press conference with Zimmerman's lawyers..

Were we all taken along for the "ZIMMERMAN is a racist killer, and a wanna be vigilante" smear campaign in the media started by some fringe element with alternate (alternate to justice that is) civil intentions-ride all along?
What these guys are saying right now makes me suspect that the answer is maybe we were...

This seems like a good microcosm for a greater life lesson:

I couldn't help but lean towards Tm's side but something was telling me to wait for all the facts. As soon as the no limit nigga shit hit & he wasn't that little boy with the hollister shirt I said "now the facts are coming in"

We will never know. Was only able to get his side of the story for obvious reasons.

Was there enough evidence to disprove his self-defense claim beyond all reasonable doubt? No.

Maybe a civil suit will find him 70% (or any % at fault) and award what they feel will be appropriate monetary compensation.

The juror writing the book has already said through her agent that based on how he was charged and the instructions the jury was given, there was no choice but to find him innocent. Should make for an interesting book since her husband is an attorney and will coauthor it with her.

But when the news of Zimmermans past surfaced you never one considered that they were kind of in the same boat, but for different reasons?

The night of his death he was wearing skinny jeans and a properly fitted hoodie. It's not like his pants were around his knees and he was wearing an XXL shirt. He was actually dressed quite decently for a nighttime walk for a snack and beverage.

Nobody ever said they were neighborhood watch. When presented with several opportunities to say "I'm neighborhood watch", he said nothing. Even the cops were dumbfounded by this. There was also no evidence that anyone but Zimmerman grabbed for a gun. If you're going to take only Zimmerman's word on what happened, then there are several versions to sort through.

zimmerman was investigated by the FBI for civil rights issues and cleared, cleared by FL of any crime... what would be the basis for a civil action?

Under the conditions set forth under a criminal case, he was indeed innocent as the jury found.

A civil case I think he will be found guilty because the requirements are not as narrow and his full actions will be taken into account.

Very good point. Since there were no cameras and no witnesses that saw how the fight started all we had was Zimmerman's word and in this case there wasn't enough evidence to prove that he wasn't telling the truth. If Zimmerman isn't telling the truth we will likely never know.
