graphics card with dual support and 2 monitors, not much else needed. I needed 2 DVI adaptors to connect to the standard monitor cables but that was all. I'm about to get a triple monitor setup, 2 is no longer enough!

you may want to install ultramon so you can have individual taskbars on each monitor

I'm debating this...I'd like to have emails and chat open on far left then main screen in middle and having the 3rd on the right with my stats spreadsheets would be nice. And then when in Photoshop (gimp for me) I would have plenty of room to work too.

Anyone know of a single video card with three DVI-D dual link connectors? Seen some that have three connectors but they are not all DVI-D dual link connectors.

i have a quad monitor setup, but i only use 3, the 4th is for server monitoring ..

the angle of the eyes can't really take in 4 monitors, so 3 is best

Three monitors is the way to go.

I'm spoiled; If I drop down to two monitors it kills me. For graphics I am running two 1GB AMD Radeon HD 7800....

I'm working on building my next computer, at least I am planning it out.

I use two of these below to run 6. One 32in is the main, 3 x 24in and 2 x20.

I'm more than content with a single 27".

I split the screen up and I find it easier than dual monitors. Don't get me wrong, dual serves a very good purpose to some people.

Just in case you didn't know, you can also use 2 mac computers as 1 giant desktop. On my desk I have 2 x iMac 27's computers that I use for various things. But with a single key-click combo they become one big desktop. You can do this wirelessly but getting the right cable from Apple to do this ($20 or so) is better because doing it wirelessly tends to be laggy.

There are also ways to extend your desktop to your iphone and iPad. It works but its not terribly useful.

SAMSUNG has a line of desktop monitors that can connect by USB 2.0/3.0 as well as VGA/DVI ... making adding a second (or even third) monitor to a desktop OR LAPTOP, as easy as plugging in a USB cable ..

I have the 27" SyncMaster monitor, and I plug it into my MacBook Pro all the time, and I love it!

I got duels on my iMac and then my MacBook Pro, but I want to bump my iMac up to 4 setup and dedicate the 2 extras to VM's of Windows and Linux for development testing.
