Proper Etiquette for Adding GFY Members to IM & Social Media - GoFuckYourself.com

Hey guys this has been annoying the fuck out of me lately. I dig connecting with GFY'ers on IM or Social Media but hate when they just add me generically and just say "hey". For instance when I post in "buy/sell" or "now hiring" forums I am asking to be contacted via Skype there are usually a handful of users contacting me about this one item but if I have posted multiple items and I'm also posting on other forums and I've got customers and models adding me and sending messages it makes it hard to decipher who is who.

When adding a GFY'er to your IM or Social Media I'm suggesting that you:

Establish who you are with a name or screen name - "Hey I'm srockhard"
State which site you viewed the thread - "saw your thread on GFY about your amazing website"
Provide a thread link (https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=909637)
State your response - "I think I could help you monetize your site bro"

lolol I hear ya man , all the time I get "adds" and so on.... be it on FB , ICQ, Skype or whatever and they do not even mention what or who they are and so forth...

I totally agree with the IM part, but social media not so much as it's public. Being messaged on ice et al I need to know who you are etc before I respond or add someone. I don't have time to be playing Marco Polo

You know, in skype you can create groups. Group the users in your list, add favourites, etc.

I don't use anything but email anymore and pride myself on having the least amount of friends of all my friends on FB. I think I have more "requests" than friends. I know I would if I didn't decline all of the obiously fake porn profiles.

I 100% agree with you...SOME sort of "introduction" comment should make sense, but, well this is GFY after all.
I even ASK people to do that in my sig...1 out of 20 even bothers...LOL!
