BREAKING NEWS: The Shooter Is A Convicted Drug Felon and the Shooting May Have Been Over A Drug Debt

Even with a videotape, events are not always easy to assess accurately...

How many people watching the video knew that the female fired a shot into the ground, before the male took a swing at her, and that she at shot him, more than once? (the videotape ends before you see her actually shooting more than once at him)

In the surveillance video from several different angles, you can see the two arguing, the woman pulling out a weapon from her trunk. She apparently fired to the ground once, he took a swing at her and we won't show you the moment, but she fired several more rounds. He died at the gas station.

Another question which deserves an answer is that if the female felt justified in killing this person, then why did she leave instead of waiting for police to arrive?

Also, did she even have a right to possess the gun in the first place (or is that unimportant)?

NOTE: If you read down, you will see that the shooter is a convicted drug felon, and also has assault on her record (I didn't think convicted felons could keep and drive around with loaded guns).

I don't get the impression looking at the video that the man was trying to rape the woman in broad daylight at a public gas station, as the thread title suggests. She also looked pretty nonchalant when she moments after killing a man, walks over and snaps photo/video of him dying.

Lewis Edward Daniel departed this life July 21, 2013. He leaves to cherish his memories: loving children Montray, Nicole, Rodney and Patrick, a devoted mother, 9 grandchildren, 6 siblings, family and friends.

The shooter's name is Shanequia Nicole McDonald (age 24).

HOUSTON -- The woman who was caught on camera fatally shooting a man at a southeast Houston gas station on Sunday, spoke publically for the first time on Tuesday afternoon.

Shanequia McDonald, 23, maintains she was forced to open fire on 58-year-old Lewis Daniels after he threatened her.

However, Daniels? family said the argument began over money and that they had argued before.

?He was a smoker,? said Nicole Brown, Daniels? daughter. ?He owed her $30.?

She heard on the streets that ?she asked for her money? but he didn?t have it.

?I just went to the gas station to get gas,? McDonald said. ?I didn't go to hurt or harm anyone.?

She acknowledged recognizing Daniels by stating ?he is from around this area? but she also said she did not personally know him.

McDonald said Daniels made sexual advances, threatening her with an umbrella in one hand, and a pocket knife in the other. The video shows the two arguing. She pulled a rifle from her trunk and he lunged at her before she raised the weapon.

?She shot in the ground and she did not know the bullet ricocheted in the ground and hit him like it did,? said community activist Quanell X, who called the press conference.

He also explained why McDonald took a picture right after the shooting. ?She took out a phone to take a picture of the knife he had in his hand so no one would say that the man did not have a knife,? Quanell X said.

I read elsewhere that the pocketknife was actually found in the dead man's clothing. No doubt the photos taken by the shooter will be important evidence.

Both McDonald, who fired the rifle, and Daniels who was killed, have previous convictions for drugs and assault.

Daniel had a drug problem and numerous run ins with the law, his relatives are quick to admit.

But what Daniel was not, they say was a total stranger to 23-year-old Shane McDonald.

"Personally I don't know him," McDonald told reporters on Tuesday.

"They smoked drugs together, they smoked cocaine rocks together," said Darryl Daniel, Lewis' younger brother.

Will be interesting to see how this mess plays out.
