I saw an interview with the guy that did it. He refused to talk about Larry Flynt for some reason. The shooter said he was misguided and sorry for what he did. But you could tell he was proud of his killing.

I sincerely feel for Mr. Flynt's suffering.

But in western society we do not torture people to death.

I find it hypocritical that some in this thread who condemn capital punishment are OK with torturing a criminal to death.

Send this miserable POS to an unmarked grave, his name never to be mentioned, OK but to torture him to death slowly is barbaric akin to stoning women to death, on a human dignity level -- not that he deserves any compassion.

Vengeance against a man's life, regardless of his crimes, by the state has its legal limits.

While I sympathize with Larry Flynt, and agree with his reason for opposing the death penalty, I would not condone Flynt torturing his accused killer (Franklin, a paranoid schizophrenic, has never been tried for shooting Flynt, let alone convicted). Flynt knows that is never going to happen anyway...

to be honest if larry flynt wants torture for his assassin he could probably make it happen himself. franklin was a serial killer, he had many other victims, they would likely join flynt's chorus.

Don't sweat it, anyone around here who says stupid shit like that has never been around real anguish and torment to know what that does to people, not only the people being tortured but the people dishing it out as well. (obviously not Flynt, he's just shooting for headlines as usual)
