When you read the small print on most betting sites that give a deposit bonus, it's usually just a con.

You then have to bet X amount more before they let you lift any potential winnings which would include the bonus...

Read the conditions of what you can do with the bonus and make sure whether it will translate into real money within your lifetime. A lot of betting site deposit bonus have to be played over and over before it isn't a restricted bonus any more.

They all pretty much work off the same ethic...

Edit: Germany are 5/4

You'd do well just to forget the bonus, and double your money with a straight bet. Or even HT/FT Germany which is 3/1

I can just confirm what they said...forget the bonus, brings nothing, just place your bet without any bonus and when you win you can take the money...with a bonus you have to bet again and again...with some you have to bet 5 times the bonus and restricted to the odds blablabla

It's not a con. They just do not want to give out money for free (those who deposit and then takes back the bonus and leave). They want real players, meaning those that are there for betting, not just for scalping the bonus.
If you had a bookmaker you would do the exact same thing, otherwise you would be just giving away free money.

You can take your initial money anytime. It is just a bonus amount that you have to bet few more times before cashing out. Completely normal.

It's a con in how they advertise it.

They make out you get Ex: £50 free bet when you make your first deposit. So people assume right away that cash is their to be used for a bet and withdrawn if successful.

But they don't tell you that the deposit has to be multiplied through bets X amount of times before you can touch it (until you read the small print like has been said already). So yes they are smart about it, but it's still a con...

You can't say it is a con. I don't know about these offshore sports books but UK bookmakers will have very clear terms as to how and when any bonus can be cashed out and you can be sure that their adverts comply with the Advertising Standards Authority rules.

I only use betfair nowadays but for details of which bookmaker offers what etc a good place to start is www.oddschecker.com

Do yourself a favor an open an account at 5Dimes.eu, and then ask them for the reduced juice option over the deposit bonus. You will save a LOT of money over time if you take reduced juice...

I would call it misleading (depending on how small that print is) at most, instead of a con.

awesome, but he asks for bonus, so he loads 50 bucks and get 50 bucks bonus and bet 100 on one game I guess its totally blocked til you reach the bonus requirements
