That is a fairly accurate portrait of Joseph Smith. Even the Mormons teach that he used to put a seer stone in his hat. He would then cover his face with his hat and look into it. He would use the stone to tell him where to find buried treasure. I know some Mormons and they are VERY professional and wealthy and educated. It amazes me that they accept these nutty beliefs. However they are very good people, prosperous, and some of the most honorable people I have ever met in my life. And it always amazes me when I meet some Mormon guy who is kind of nerdy and then meet his wife. Some of these nerdy Mormon guys have wives that could be models.

Joseph Smith was also a Mason and there are many people who believe that he was killed because he stole so much of the initiations, symbols, and other secrets of Masonry (such as the blood oath) and implemented it into the Mormon religion.
