I started doing the best after 2008. From 2008 to 2009 there was 264k jump in business. Fluctuated a bit after that bust mostly staying even. It's not easy, but wayyy better than any other job I could think of.

A few days later I called him up because we had talked about seeing a new movie that was coming out. He said, "Can you find time in your precious schedule to see it?" It really pissed me off.

We didn't talk for about five years. Occasionally I would see him at parties or other things were multiple friends were, but things were very cold between us. Then he started his own business and suddenly realized for himself just how hard it was and how much work it took. He actually called me up and apologized.

The moral of the story is that if you work for yourself most people think you don't really work and money just rains from the sky and into your pockets.

Went on vacation once right before moving into a new place and forwarded my mail and stored some things at a buddy's garage until my new place was ready. While on vacation told my boy to open my mail and let me know what is was. Few fat ass affiliate checks were in the mix and he was like so you've been on vacation not working and money falls from the sky on auto pilot? Had to explain to him that many hours of work since 2003 has created quite a bit of an auto pilot revenue stream so he didn't quit his job and throw up a porn site expecting the same.

One of my closest friends so he's seen some of the crazy ROI I've pulled both in mainstream/adult. Just had to let him know that yes I've done good in both areas but not 100% of the picture. While he was out enjoying life with the GF I was slaving behind the computer and reinvesting adult profits back into adult and mainstream. So I sacrificed time/fun and reinvested profits to build an auto pilot multiple industry retirement stream.

Personally I've never looked for a pat on the back as once ya tell people what's working for ya then your building your competition. Prefer the stay quite and get your pat on the back when you open the checkbook or review your retirement portfolio.
