When my parents met, shortly after the war, everyone was skinny. There wasn't much food around to eat, what with rationing etc, let alone money to pay for it

So, if you put on weight, and got very fat, it was seen as a status symbol. You obviously had money to maintain that weight... So it was pretty cool..

These days, being skinny and in shape is the same. You need money and time to work out at the gym, take supplements and eat healthy nutritious food... Thats why most people who cant afford much, eat cheap crap and get obese...

Well we all know that everything goes in cycles and circles, and so my question is: How long until being over 350 Lbs will be considered 'sweet' and I can actually get myself a girlfriend?

I'll take it as a real question... I think it speaks to the niche culture we live in now. In previous decades, media was very expensive to produce and distribute. That's why we had three TV networks and a hundred or so magazines with huge distribution numbers in the millions, competing and comparing to set an apparent "norm."

With cheaper technology now, it seems anyone with a little cash can open a cable TV network and break even with a couple hundred thousand regular viewers, and with targeted distribution a magazine can survive with just 50,000 subscribers.

And, obviously, the internet has moved the emphasis of success from creating the highest quality, lowest common denominator content, whether it's porn or editorial opinion in the form of blogs and vlogs, to marketing. GFY is full of people who are confident in their creations, but who just want more traffic.

Fashion is fragmented now to the consumer's taste; the hard part is connecting the consumer to the producer. Not everyone likes BBW, not everyone likes gay dad & son, not everyone like women with big hair and make-up. But enough do to support anyone who wants to supply it - if only we can find those consumers.

You're asking, I think, on a more personal level, so I'll wrap it up by asking, why are you asking? If it's to find universal celebration, dream on. There are no more Huxtables. If it's to find more accepting people in your life, stop looking in the wrong places. Find your niche audience.

Same answer. Find your target niche market: A) Girls who like big boys, or B) Girls who don't care as long as you have whatever else they're looking for. While A) would be ideal, B) will get you a girl with more depth - and it requires more work. Not to get all eHarmony on you, but write a list for yourself of what you have to offer in a relationship, and inventory of yourself. Armed with that knowledge, put yourself where the right traffic is. An obvious one might be an OA meeting (I'm not being mean or facetious, just looking at where your market might be). You're not going to find it on this board or on a street corner. You're just going to have to buckle up and get in the real world with the real you.

I asked my Healthcare Professional (Who comes in twice a day, to wash and dress me) and she says quite succinctly, that its because "I'm a lazy fuck with entitlement issues..."

There are all kinds of reasons people can be overweight. People eat more fast food or fried food than fruits and vegetables. Everything, everything, has too much sugar in it, etc.

Do this : Try to cut down on portions, and swap out a meal of meat and potatoes for a salad once in a while. Get out of your webmaster chair and go for a walk at least once or twice a day. As you start to feel better, turn that walk into a jog or other activity. You'll start to feel a lot better pretty quickly, and the extra exercise, fresh air and sunshine will even have a positive effect on your mood.

I also strongly suggest that you pickup one of those Nike Fuel band gadgets. If you're a webmaster you're probably already glued to your stats. A fuel band gives you lots of stats about how you move and you'll begin to appreciate it fast.

People are fat because they're fucking useless and lazy...and they're always looking for a reason to blame it on. I eat whatever the fuck I want and am in perfectly fine shape.

Throughout my day I get up off my chair every once in awhile and I do between 40-60 push-ups and crunches (500-750 total a day). Do you know how much that costs me? ZERO fucking dollars and it takes me maybe 20-30 minutes over the entire day. It took you more time probably to think up and start this non-sense thread -- I'm pretty fucking sure you waste hours a day doing fuck all -- so don't cry about not having the time.

Also, when it comes to eating good meals, you can make great meals, especially if you're cooking a large quantity and freezing it or whatever (you can easily make great meals for $1.5-$3/each). The biggest thing is just not eating processed shit -- which means not being a lazy fuck and actually cooking yourself something.

The other week I made chinese food from scratch, which included beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken friend rice and eggs rolls -- it cost me just under $3 for a plate full of food -- How much is that McDonald's costing you?

Anyway, don't give us all your bullshit reasons for why you can't get off your ass and do something, because the people that do do something, don't want to hear it.
