Porn has a lot to answer for.

A good quick read.
The oldies know it. The newbies probably weren't born when VHS was king and other.

Whether we like it or not, porn rules our lives and has changed the way we live. This is how.

Porn: how it totally changed the world and the way we all live

Similarly with Blu-Ray, when the porn industry decided they would start using that instead of HD DVD, it put the final nail in the coffin for HD DVD?s death

Really? The only erotic blu rays I have seen are erotic films from the 70s.

The author must be talking about porn in Australia. The US industry chose HD DVD and had to switch to Blu-ray midstream when the non-porn industry made the final decision. I still have my copy of Pirates on HD DVD.

Not really, Here in the usa there were both. Most porn I seen in adult stores (though it was a small collection) was on Blu ray. I thought the battle was won because Sony wouldn't allow the release of their movies on hd dvd?

In part, that's true, it was the PS3 and its owners who won the war for Blu-ray. Back in '08, shortly after Warner Bros announced their support for Blu-ray, Toshiba cancelled their push for HD DVD which signaled the end for the format. In porn, HD DVD and Blu-ray didn't do well, at best companies like Elegant Angel only broke even on Blu-ray sales. Porn wasn't on the field when it came to the format wars.

That article is way way outdated. yes there was a time when internet porners and porners in general were the technology leaders but that time is LONG LONG gone.

BluRay winning over HDDVD had nothing to do with porn and more to do with Sony both the no HDDVD policy and the Playstation 3

IF porn was the technology leader these days then all sites would be using MPEG DASH with high quality and affordable DRM and cross platform players

Hell CCBILL STILL hasnt figured out direct deposit for Gods sake....

The problem is that porn people went from being tech driven to being marketing driven so instead of innovative streaming and payment technology we have tube sites and a kind of we may be losing our asses but we will make it up in volume ideology.

We actually have a person in a position of power in this industry that often makes the quote to mainstream media that condoms make sex more dangerous than bareback because they can break.....

And y'all wonder why mainstream America by and large think we are a bunch of mouth breathing morons....
