Had the same issue. I suspect they updated the kernel on their machines and the vps don't autobooot. I logged in and booted the thing. Lost traffic today from it. Happens.

TIP: Never use a hosting service at a domain registrar. Go with a company that doesn't deal with domains but focuses on delivering excellent hosting only.

How do you like NameCheap hosting? I am considering opening a small account with a new host for a mainstream project and NameCheap is in my final 3.

I use it to host swf files behind cloudflare so there is some redundancy if they start going down a lot all of a sudden. Their uptime has been quite good. I would not use it as a primary host on its own though. Not for anything dynamic. I wouldn't trust namecheap to have an experienced reaction should a complex environment suddenly go awry.
