yes, like all the other billing solutions, the thing with paypal is you put the return in paypal to a nats page and I don't know the function of that page, but I am sure a programmer will know how to use it

did that, paypal is working fine with NATS, its just not adding passwords to the password file, the tech who helped said its usually a third party script to add passwords to password file

Are you planning to access the NATS database, or does NATS allow for "triggering" a script on join (and, potentially, on expiration)? John can probably speak to this.

the customer is allowed to make a password and it is sent to me, but its not added to password file, to make it do it, you would think the NATS return URL (that you put in paypal as return URL)
/signup/returnurl_paypal.php would be able to add the password at that point..but I don't know what that php file actually does and cant go digging around in it..I would probably mess it up. |

You really should be authenticating off of the database rather than a text file. If you'd like our guys to help you set it up just let me know & I'll make sure they walk you through it so it's all working how you'd like it to be & fully understood.

Yes, there are postbacks that he can use to call a script of his to process data post sale (rebill, expire, etc.). I believe that's the script he's looking for someone to write for him.

Slick. With a script as mature as NATS, this is how I'd expect PayPal to be integrated, I just didn't want to assume.

Surprised nobody has a nats postback script for wordpress yet, that would likely sell a copy or two as a paid add-on.

She won't put the time in and then hope to sell it. But if someone wanted it done, she'd be more than willing.

If you're just talking about adding/removing users within wordpress when a transaction occurs or they expire that's something I think would be a good addition to NATS, and if you're interested in getting it done let me know. If you're talking about treating existing wordpress users differently depending on access levels it gets a bit more involved can vary greatly from instance to instance. Not that it's not doable or we can't discuss it in that case, but it gets much more complicated to add as a "core feature".

Dispite my current fatigue there was a time not too long ago I would have seen big dollar signs if there was a way to control user access to premium posts while plugging in recurring billing and tracking affiliate commissions via NATS. It's a free CMS that's easy to use, looks great if you don't intentionally make it ugly, has a ton of features and more add-ons than anything I know of and it's most people's first script when they start playing weekend webmaster. So yeah, I don't see how it wouldn't be a plus for TMM to have a way to add billing, affiliate tracking and user management to it, might attract a lot of startup paysites, hell seems nearly half the internet runs on Wordpress so quite a few longstanding sites might decide to go premium that way.

Ask someone to write you a postback script, all you need is some PHP to read NATS postbacks and insert the user credentials into the WP database. I am sure TMM can do it, just make sure you tell them you want a postback script, don't start talking about "integration" like I always do, that word means something else to them and adds a few zeroes to the quote every time.

Sorry for insulting your intelligence. FYI : I own a successful website and have an excellent programmer, but he is a Savant with no social skills and his answer to my question would be likely similar to yours. I am a business person who makes a lot of money in this business, but i am not a geek. That is why I am here trying to find somebody who can replace him. I guess you will not be a candidate.

So possibly, Venus doesn't need a programmer after all, just s2member and it seems he/she already has NATS. right?

No. That would only solve YOUR issue of restricting levels of users to different offerings of WordPress content. His is much more complex, and since it is for a membership site, I'd assume he isn't going to use WordPress (yuck).

Hey, I am not here to create hassle but to learn. If $ 80/h does look to you as less then a minimum wage, it's fine with me. Just tell me what NATS and PayPal has to do with payment processing and I am willing to make up ( not kiss because I am a guy)....
