Prediction: He thinks the UK should remain in the EU, as his show is pro-establishment anti-democracy propaganda. Let's watch.

If the Brits leave the EU the USA should leave NATO.

The Americans should not allow the Brits to outdo them in the Stupid Department.

he's got a show that takes on current issues and makes a lot of people laugh. Two things you can't seem to do at all. Maybe if you weren't so hate filled 100% of the time you could be funny too.

That is true, but its hard to do the right thing when you're starving, you're kids are starving, and armed gangsters have threatened you. Are you supposed to go fight them and die and leave your kids? Yes, I guess, but it is hard to do that.

Imagine a hostage situation, That would be the best thing as well. Just have 10 people go mob each attacker, and crisis over. But 5 of them will die or be shot. and no one wants that. You didn't see it in Orlando and you won't see it here. At the moment of truth it takes amazing courage to sacrifice yourself.

Unfortunately, the best thing is to have a superpower restore order, but that rarely works either.

Speaking of Brexit, place your predictions.... I say they vote to exit. It is a referendum though, Brits, does it carry real weight or will it just be "taken under advisement"?

Yeah, yeah, we do it because everyone demands we do. Remember the UN? *Most* of what we do we get asked to do.

People who leave a country looking for a better life is a different thing than America "world police".

Even most Americans disagree with the amount of intervention we've undertaken. Libya, Iraq, and Syria were wars the American people didn't want.

not really what i meant - my question is for example why Irish immigration due to famine at home to the US 150 years ago was fine and immigration due to famine today is not

Humans have always moved around, looking for better places to raise their families, fleeing from war and hunger. No laws will stop that - only bullets. And to shoot people looking for a better chance at living, you have to be a very special kind of person

150 years ago there were few if any social programs and labor was in high demand... so they came to the new country, filled a need, worked their asses off and there was no opportunity for any leeching off social programs... so it was clear that immigrant's contribution was positive...

now many countries having extensive social programs, as well as high unemployment/underemployment, so it's less obvious that that is still the case...

some believe that immigrants contribute very little, take jobs away from local residents, leech off all the social programs, etc...

i actually like humor that makes you laugh, instead of hateful, blatant propaganda wrapped as "comedy". Just like the daily show, slaves of the same agenda. Sickening full blown propaganda. The jokes are very very weak, because that isn't their priority anymore.

And coincidentally I make real comedy that does make alot of people laugh:

Watch it, and admit that you had to laugh too ;)

it was fine at the time because people were needed but if you look back you'll see that immigration from many countries were not allowed/not possible..you largely had people coming form the same ethic and religious backgrounds. and those who did get there that were from different cultures were treated horribly but regardless that was then and this is now. coming to a largely unpopulated area from a highly populated area without any social safety nets is not quite the same thing that is happening today. i'm sure you can see that.

someone should create a snarky follow-up show that takes the opposite side and lampoons oliver's view. call it "last nite this morning".

seems to me both sides have legitimate points on brexit. i can't even sort it out well enough to have an opinion. does brexit matter to America even?

The world population was 1.2 billion in 1850 and the US population was 23 million when the famine occurred. Until 1888, the US was actively encouraging immigration.

The real problem is overpopulation. Realistically, without torture, the earth can sustain about 60m people.

It's not legally binding so technically the government could ignore it, especially if it's very close.

John Oliver is not the funniest dude on planet earth. I never heard of him then he got some momentum with some big (painfully unfunny) interviews like snowden.

Too many unfunny comedians getting places IMO

The EU will disintegrate.Eventually, a country will realise faceless bureaucrats who can't be elected out, unless Anti-EU parties dominate the EU Government. Will call a referendum and the house of cards tumbles.

No one wants to stop trading, discussing ways to combat climate change, terrorism, crime, etc. The problem is being ruled by the centre.

How much has living standards improved in France, Germany, Holland, Denmark?

We know in the UK it has got slightly worse.

In Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, it has got very much worse and unless the richer Nations start giving charity to bail them out it will get worse.

Why? This is why we should leave before the idiots bring the whole house down. A bunch of incompetents decided to have a single currency without a single monetary policy and control over spending, borrowing, and taxes.

There are more examples of what these idiots have got wrong than what they have got right. And some think giving them more power is a good idea.

That's the scary part. If it's close like 45% IN to 55% OUT. Will Westminster say it wasn't decisive enough?

all fine and dandy. But if it happens by the millions, countries and cultures will be destroyed.

There's a reason cultures differ so much. It has been built up for 100s and 1000s of years. Throw them together all of a sudden, and the shit hits the fan. It's simple logic.

Your naive point of view is completely illogical. You have countries with the same culture in that region. But saudi arabia refuse. That's where the solution is. Throw sanctions at them for not opening the border. Close borders here.

Won't happen due to fucked up destruction agendas of the world powers. USA is a slave of Saudi Arabia, and EU driven by big corps intentionally invited them through puppet Merkel: Cheap labour. China is taking over and in their view this was the solution. They don't give a shit if it destabilizes society - that's not where their interests are. A bomb hit here and there, a massacre once in a while - it even comes in handy for them to limit your freedom. This is reality.

IMO most Europeans don't want to be ruled by foreigners sitting in a Government they have no control over. Which is why some are getting buttfucked by economic-immigrants and overwhelming money transfers south-east european countries.

China is taking over and in their view this was the solution. They don't give a shit if it destabilizes society - that's not where their interests are. A bomb hit here and there, a massacre once in a while - it even comes in handy for them to limit your freedom. This is reality.

Europe 2016.
Some cultures do blend in. Children of Carribean migrants in the 50s and 60s are now marrying "white" people. Now share the same values. Greeks did the same. Gypsies have been in Eastern Europe for over 600 years, they still haven't blended in. In Islam, it's punishable on death, to blend in. It's proven that those who work in a mix race environment have no intention of mixing outside or blending in. They live in tight communities, dress differently, eat, act and want to stay apart.

The same can be said for Orthodox Jews. How long have these people lived in Europe?

Orthodox Jews rally to protest against new Israeli draft legislation - Xinhua | English.news.cn

Read it and see how they want to dodge military service to protect their "homeland".

Recognised candidates States in the process of joining.
1.1.1 Albania
1.1.2 Macedonia
1.1.3 Montenegro
1.1.4 Serbia
1.1.5 Turkey

Potential candidates
1.2.1 Western Balkans policy
1.2.2 Bosnia and Herzegovina
1.2.3 Kosovo

Which one of the above have a pot to piss in? OK, they all have a pot it's toilets they lack.

These are all broken economies who will suck out money from the richer ones. The worst part is they will bring more cheap labour and further tip the political balance in favour of the countries who take and those who provide.

All of the Remains Camp's prediction on the economy rely on the EU inflicting huge damage on its own economy. They have to tell all their industries from Airbus to local cheese producers selling to the UK. You can no longer sell like you used to, we are imposing tariffs on your goods.

The upside for Britain is more British made cars will be sold in Britain, and that runs through to things like Cheeses.

The crunch for Brits is migration. Should rules be applied to who can have a job, get benefits, housing, healthcare, etc. The savings for Britain will be immense. Low skilled and paid workers will have to return to their own country, a job opens up, a house goes empty, less is spent on unemployment, low wages benefits. rents and house prices drop, so Britain need not build and pay for 150,000 extra new house a year to keep the situation as it is, which is dire.

London 2001 7,172,036. 2015 8.63 million. That's 1,500,000 million people in 15 years and it's still growing. Londoners can't afford to build enough houses, schools, hospitals and most certainly not enough decent paying jobs. To sustain that growth. Unless you all pay more taxes. And there's the crunch for Brits, pay more taxes to meet demands or cut demand by only allowing in those who contribute, or suffer.

Germany 2005 81,246,801. 2016 80,682,351. So the EU applies a law to suit Germany and fuck Britain. Vote IN and there will be more of those laws that suit others.
