Google is making an Uber
They can add it to their pile of failed attempts to copy other people's stuff.

Google invested $258 million in Uber back in 2013, and since then Google's Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Chief Legal Officer David Drummond has been on Ubers board of directors.
Some could argue that Google Ventures investment and Drummond's presence on the board of directors is what gave Uber the credibility to get billions in venture capital from other investors, and become what they are today. Imagine having Google's Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Chief Legal Officer on the board of your company that you want to take global, imagine what that does for that kind of company. |

Uber and Google are having a falling out. Google is making an Uber like service and Uber is making self driving driving cars. Both want a piece of the other's action. I really hope google gets fucked by Apple and dropped as the default search on the Iphone.

I should have looked deeper. I still doubt they can do much.

Jesus is there anything Google doesn't try to take over? I dunno much about uber but fuck it's getting annoying that Google has to be into everything..
It's getting to the point I don't like to use their services because of shit like this. I've always avoided Facebook because of the same reasons but avoiding google would be hard as fuck. |

Just imagine a company owning a taxi company with a fleet of cars, except there would be no drivers which account for majority of a fare's price. Then imagine it country wide/world wide/etc. It would be far cheaper to be transported by a self driving google car then to actually own a car also you'd own/destroy the oil, transporation, and car industry all in one go... amongst other things
