Speeding Drivers!

What do you do when you see an excessively speeding driver?

I used to speed. When I was 18 and just passed my test I zoomed here, I zoomed there, I zoomed everywhere, I didn't think about safety.

Now I got a little bit older and have wife and kids I tend to plod. In the words of May I would be Captain Slow,

Tonight I saw a speeding youth probably going 60 in a 30 on a road with speed humps.
I saw him coming and couldn't decide what to do so opted to peep my horn which he probably didn't hear due to the noise coming from his automobile.

I was secretly hoping he would smash into a wall.

So, what do you do? Hail them, love them? Honk, Toot, Shout or Report.

Speed always looks higher on a road with speed humps...
Maybe he was only driving 30 but the humps were perverse so it looked faster

I personally have a problem with speed humps...

Naw, cuz when they crash it provides the neighbourhood with some badly needed entertainment. We all come out of our houses...say hi to one another...ask how each other's doing. Gawk at the accident for a minute...then say, "Hey Bob, saw you painted your house. Nice color." Then we pass the beers around, look at the accident some more. We play 'Guess the damage cost' game for a bit. We designate someone to be the official Youtube/Facebook video maker (to document the occasion).

Then slowly we all drift off back to our own houses and resume watching Honey Boo Boo...until the next speeding idiot comes along.

THIS

I dont care if it's a grandma in a wagon next to me at a red light. im pinning it and peeling out smoke all the way down the dam road.

When im in a mall parking lot i will usually drift around the corners just because of my insane driving skills.

People who don't speed are clogging up the road for drivers like myself who deserve to get anywhere they are going as fast as possible.

1. I'm important
2. I'm always in a rush
3. I need to get where i am going fast
4. Stay out of my fucking way

doing anything is only counterproductive & can put your family in danger.

but if you feel so strong about it, become a cop. then you can actually do something about it.

PS i believe websites to report bad drivers are up? take a pic of the driver & put him online.

I dont speed very often any more because i bought a jeep and modified the suspension and quite frankly it feels unsafe to drive it over 75 mph. I had a camaro ss but i gave it to my son this year. With the ridiculous street racing charges they have now in ontario it was just a matter of time until i got busted. Ill let him worry about that now.

What he said...
+ it's much more safe to speed, reduce the time you spend in the car = reduce the risk of getting into an accident..
I also recommend flashing people who blocks the left lanes on the freeways , it would make a lot more sense to ticket those idiots instead of the rest of us that just want to get to our destination so we can get off the roads again, we would have capacity to have 38% more cars on the roads if everyone understood the importance of speeding
Ohh and fuck those idiot Sunday and Holliday drivers

I don't know if I'm the only person in the world who thinks this, but I've made an observation from years of driving that most people who drive Jeeps are fucking douchebags. They're always the ones riding your ass, or not using a turn signal, or flicking a cig butt out the window. A Jeep is a prick magnet, whether its a Wrangler or Cherokee.

Young female drivers and Cadillac owners - my two biggest pet peeves on the road. 90% of the time if I'm being tailgated, it's usually a young girl with no clue about reaction time and safe stopping distances.

Caddy drivers - well they just have a misplaced notion the world revolves around them.

I don't even know if I've seen a Cadillac in the last decade.

They say most accidents happen within 25 miles of home; I do my best to get out of that range as fast as I can.

I drive a jeep, I would be up your ass if blocked the left lanes, if it was dark I'd also give you a quick flash with the brights in case you hadn't seen me.... So sounds about right

There is tons of people that have no fucking idea about what's going on around them when they drive on the freeways.

If you think that's being a prick then try and drive slow in the left lanes on the freeways in Germany or most other european countries.

Call the cops and give them a description of the vehicle. If there are kids in the area, be sure to mention it. Ideally they will stake out the area and even if no tickets are written their presence will inspire drivers to be mindful to drive at a respectable speed.

I used to speed all the time. Then I realized how much money was being wasted on tickets, taking the day off work to appear in court, and increased insurance premiums. Now it's never more than 8 miles over the posted.

I searched everywhere for a like button, but couldn't find one. I say this every time I see a Jeep driving down the road.

I had a lead foot when I was younger and a long list of high speed tickets to prove it.

These days I live by the code of the "Prime Directive" from Star Trek. If it doesn't affect me directly, I don't give a shit. And I don't get involved unless I have to. I mind my own business.
