There is a special site that allows citizens to vote for their own law initiatives. If such an initiative gets 100,000 votes, it will be officially considered by the Government. Here is what we have regarding online porn right now: https://www.roi.ru/1960/ (147 votes for and 289 votes against this law project) )))

Right now only underage (including the drawn one) is forbidden in Russia. Everything else is ok. Even those niches that are not welcomed in the USA and most of the EU countries.

Not servers, but national domain zone. Actually porn was always formally forbidden at .RU, in the same way as it's forbidden at .NU and many other national TLD's

P.S. They do the same towards the piracy/warez sites too. A ton of them already lost their domains.
