I know that. I was referring to the "leaving in droves" comment which is utter bullshit. The Economist views are sort of correct but a bit skewed. Westerners believe Japan should model itself after the West so everyone can be as miserable whereas younger Japanese are becoming more conservative and are only willing to marry and have children if the economy allows for a one person worker in the household namely the guy as it has been in the past. The problem Japan also faces is the baby-boomer generation is shyte just like in the US and EU. Selfish, loathsome types centered on themselves and no one else.

Japan Today is owned by this company, GPlus Media a predominantly Korean/foreign backed and financed "tool."

You always have to take western media with a grain of salt when it comes to Japan as it has an agenda, "shocking" and is often clueless to the reality. Japanese are a "saving nation" not a "spending nation". It is considered irresponsible to raise a family without proper career(s) in place. That said, I see a baby explosion going on that is not being reported on. Couples with 2-4 kids are rising...in the burbs. Just not in Shinjuku or Roppongi where 'reporters' and foreigners often cling to because they have no idea what to do outside those wards.
