GoPros New 360 Virtual Reality Camera Launched Today
It works with Oculus Rift and other VR platforms. The above is the underwater version for about $5k. More info here. Your thoughts? Too much, wrong timing, game changer for 3D environments? I've known for a couple years something was up in mainstream RE 360, aside from what you'd see in the media. When I'd go to register 360 related domains for my own content project, pretty much everything you'd expect was already taken. |

				 | 3d is totally a fad, nearly all theaters have 3d movies. so that would say to me that big budget companies (games and movies) can and will make quality 3d or 360 entertainment people want to watch. |

				 | This camera (in the main post) is not a 3d camera but it is a omnispheric camera. There is a big difference in vr. It is like taking 1/2 of the immersion away. Google and GoPro's partnership camera is a 3d panospheric camera but does not capture the top and bottom of a spherical imagery but is 3d. I am still waiting on the specs and price of the Samsung Project Beyond camera. 3D Omnispheric. I guess the point is, if you don't have a immediate need just yet, wait till most of the concept 3D VR Cameras have been released. You don't know what your missing "yet". |
