I think the TTP is rather important but to who?

What jobs exactly would this endanger?
A lot of low value manufacturing work is ''owned'' now by China and South Asia.

Walmart workers and hamburger flippers will not lose their jobs. A lot of low value manufacturing work will be done by AI Robotics -- the race is really in the development, design and fabrication of these robotics to replace ''cheap labor''. Technology will replace 40% of the low value manufacturing workers anyway -- those jobs are gone -- get used to it.

Globalizing barrier and tariff-free trade is to the benefit of the new consumers in the information-age world and also in the advantage of the developing world. The industrial developed word has changed. A new Lexus and a cheaper BMW are comparable in quality and Kia is moving in on the lower middle vehicle range (Chevrolet - Ford). Is a Cat excavator that much better of a value than a Hyundai excavator?

If US Aircraft makers can sell duty free to China for example:
Quote:
PRC value-added tax and customs tariffs add up to some 22 percent to 25 percent (depending on the aircraft type) when it comes to business jets,

There is more to be considered on the TTP that some biased youtube videos ...
I think the merits of the proposed agreement deserve full debate -- but a fast track-- yes or no vote is not a real issue -- it's a political soapbox.

I have only heard a little about this. But some people are saying this will be used to supersede countries national laws.

So me here in Australia, will have to go along with what US laws dictate.

Fuck that shit, fuck you yanks go home and take your bullshit with ya..

Why would the Australian government negotiate and agree to a trade agreement that would infringe on your national sovereignty?

Any trade law arbitration would have to be at least be assumed by each country to their mutual benefit.

BTW, Americans are making the same argument that the TPP Trade agreement will allow other countries to infringe on US laws too.

Same argument from another side -- both sides cannot be right unless there is a trade policy binding arbitration involved in the agreement ...

US Senator Bernie Sanders says:

U.S. sovereignty will be undermined by giving corporations the right to challenge our laws before international tribunals.

The TPP creates a special dispute resolution process that allows corporations to challenge any domestic laws that could adversely impact their “expected future profits.”

These challenges would be heard before UN and World Bank tribunals which could require taxpayer compensation to corporations.

This process undermines our sovereignty and subverts democratically passed laws including those dealing with labor, health, and the environment.

TPP is sooooooooooooo bad news. The next war should be against corporate boards before they destroy whats left of the world in the name of profit.
