Bernie Sanders

not sure if anyone cares but over here they finally recognized that he exists and that he draws much bigger crowds than Hilary

major newspapers start writing about him and how he can eventually even beat her

could she be defeated a second time by someone that no one was counting on in the beginning?

She can pay the BLM crowd to disrupt his campaign like they already did.
His populist attitude is very bad.

I like Bernie, but he drifts a little far out there on somethings. I'd choose him over any other candidate out there so far, but some of his ideas are a bit to the extreme for what the majority would accept.

I have no idea who Bernie is. I mean, I know nothing about him.

LOL. I'm going to wait until we have two nominees picked before I give it all much thought.

I'm just so disgusted with politics. I'm not "all about Obama" but I'm tired of people talking about how "bad the economy is" or "how bad the country is" or "how we need change". We have moved out of two wars, unemployment is in the 5% range, and our economy is moving along.

he sure has experience by now - but he also seems to be up for a foot-in-mouth moment anytime

edit: which makes him a good opponent for Trump

Bernie's message isnt about how bad everything is. It's about how much better things could be. Look him up, here what he has to say. :-)

Bernie is drawing crowds but he can't win a general election. Hillary is about to fuck the democrats by not bowing out early and clearing the way for someone else. This email thing will cause her to find an excuse to exit the race (health, family, whatever the excuse) so she can focus on not going to jail.
She will hang around too long to show her buyers that she had no other choice but that will basically block a real democratic candidate from entering until its too late.

Nix the socialism aspect of Bernie, and he looks good to me. At least he seems like someone who gives a shit, and that's more than I can say for Hillary.

What are the facts?

The 1% will own more than the 99% by 2016, report says

US wealth inequality - top 0.1% worth as much as the bottom 90% - Not since the Great Depression has wealth inequality in the US been so acute, new in-depth study finds

That's brilliant. Tell 90% of the population they did it to themselves for having a mortgage and seeking higher education. I'm sure that will be an effective campaign slogan for the Koch bros.

I don't care much about nice things, expensive cloths or fancy restaurants. I rarely wear anything.that isn't Nike or under amour no matter what I'm doing. I Recently however I decided to pay for a full, all clubs membership to Lifetime Fitness for $150/mo because I'm sick of being in a facility where people are rude, inconsiderate and don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves. I'm tired of wondering when it will be my car that gets a window knocked out as tends to happen several times a week at chain gyms.

Now I am everyday in a place where people of all races have money. They are all better people. They clean up after themselves, they put weights back, they are polite and considerate, they are clean,... I don't have to worry about my car getting broke into.

Maybe the 1% are simply better human beings. School is out and the place is full of kids of all races and they are all well behaved and polite and considerate. I wish poor people would get back on board with good parenting and family values, being respectful, kind and considerate... being polite and helpful and focusing on being the best people they can be. Then they'd be the 1%.

Bingo.

People want to hear that they are victims and it's not their fault. Exactly the opposite of what I want to hear about myself.

My grandfather told me when I was a kid: "Son, EVERYTHING that happens in my life is my own fault because of choices I made". He became a multi-millionaire and did it literally from NOTHING. (he was an orphan raised in the Great Depression).

I live my life based on many of the things he told me growing up. And it's why I almost choke when I read some of the bullshit on GFY from people thinking that it's all the "1%" people's fault that they have nothing.
No, it's YOUR fault you have nothing.

I love the message about how about everything is. "We need change". Why do we need change? Unemployment is 5.3% and we aren't involved in two wars. The price of gas is down, the economy is doing good, and the value of houses are going back up.

On the contrary, I do quite well but that is completely irrelevant and I didnt need to bang credit cards to get where I'm at. Unlike you I have no need to try to convince others of what I have or what I've done and put others down that are less fortunate. I mean really, what is it you are so insecure about that you makes you feel better for doing that? My guess is your daddy drilled in your head growing up what a piece of shit you were so now you spend the rest of your life trying to convince yourself and others otherwise.

Regardless, you said Sanders was not presenting facts, I asked you what were the facts and as usual you come back with your usual deflective narcissistic bullshit. You're pathetic Ronnie boy.

Yup, we now live in a time where an entire generation and their children have been fed this victim BS. The only place success is still being taught is inside of successful homes.
It will be one of the contributing factors of this country's demise.

Does the Democrat candidate always reflect your views on the issues? Or do they simply promise something that is sort of in the same ballpark but not really the way you feel?

If you are voting for the lesser of two evils in your mind...then you should look at other candidates. If more people started voting for what they actually want instead of something sort of close to it...then you might start actually seeing something positive instead of the same old b.s. we keep getting over and over.

I would humbly suggest that you take a fresh look at things and stop voting party line.
There are other political parties besides the Republicans and Democrats. But they will never work unless people stop voting blindly for the 2 ruling party's.

I was born to a lower middle class family. My father moved us forward. I stood o his shoulders and moved my family forward.
Neither of us whined about a rigged game and both of us got to watch our children do things we never dreamed of.
It's not about the game being rigged, it's about playing the game well.

While I'll agree with your attitude things just can't keep getting hoarded more and more by a relative few. There needs to be a robust middle class.
Here's a good documentary about it: Inequality for All | A documentary film about income inequality, public policy, and economics and features professor Robert Reich.

Not sure if it's still available on netflix.

Everyone acts like money is in someones possession. It's not. It's not gold in a safe. It's not under Trumps mattress. Its in banks and financial institutions,... it is your small business loan, it is your student loan, it is your car loan, it is your home mortgage, it's your credit cards,... it is there available and free to use by anyone who has a proven ability to use it and pay it back. You can borrow $1000.00.... you can borrow 100,000,000.00. Money is everywhere and freely available to anyone who has learned how to use it correctly.

You have every opportunity right now, to do and be anything you want to be if you want to work for it... as does anyone else. You have every opportunity to develop and learn any skill, you have every opportunity to become anything you wish to become and do anything you truly love doing. Whether you believe that is right or wrong... you're 100% correct.

The single largest problem with the economy is the growing chorus of people chanting "it's just not my fault"... while 3rd world nations are clamoring for economic success and willing to outwork everyone to get it.

I think you get off too much to "whiney bitchy people."

There's plenty of work and money if you have specific skills. I have a childhood friend (one of the few I still talk to) that was talking to me last night saying he just lost his factory job at Caterpillar. He had been working there for over 3 years as a temp, they kept promising to hire him, on and on. They eventually had to let him go because of cut backs on production.
He can't find a job that pays even $15. He was making about $50k at his factory job.
Granted I'd say he's average, maybe slightly below average, intelligence but it's getting harder and harder for average people to find regular work.

The movie reference I made is for people like him who need a job to support 2 kids, his wife works but she's looking for a new job apparently. Sucks, his kids are going to experience their parents in and out of menial jobs until they become adults.

These friends of mine are legitimate WHITE people trying to make an HONEST living.

You're friend spent 3 years as temp labor at a factory. He could have spent those evenings like ambitious people with goals who fully intend to provide a good life for their family by learning to code, studying online etc etc. He could have done a million things to better his own situation. Just the exact same as every young parent has since the dawn of time. He chose not to. He coasted. He coasted in a job where the very point was that he was expendable. Then he got let go which not planning for in 3 years as a temp hire is beyond irresponsible.

At what point are people themselves responsible for their station in life? Kanye West is not a genius. He's just a dickhead that worked hard and devoted every waking moment to improving at skills. Skills he continued to build on as a job and then as a career. That can be said of anyone, ever thats worked for success.

Good articles to read on this subject - came out today and yesterday, if your interest is data rather than speculation:

Is Hillary Clinton Really in Danger of Losing the Primary?

Despite crowds, Sanders? viability remains a question

Bernie Sanders is a media creation. He fills a vacuum so that the primary is not a coronation, which Americans correctly resent. The media relies heavily on political advertising, which makes up more than 20% of its revenue, and needs a race, even if they have to gin one up.

Media Executives Are Salivating Over Big Money Flooding the 2016 Election Cycle

"Les Moonves, president and chief executive of CBS, memorably said, ?Super PACs may be bad for America, but they?re very good for CBS.?

His views appear unchanged. In a February investor call, Moonves predicted ?strong growth with the help of political spending,? particularly on television. He added dryly, ?looking ahead, the 2016 presidential election is right around the corner and, thank God, the rancor has already begun.?"

Hillary Clinton's political demise has been predicted numerous times. Neither Joe Biden nor Bernie Sanders nor Martin O'Malley nor Jim Webb will beat her. Someone might, but they haven't come along.

Here's a good documentary about it: Inequality for All | A documentary film about income inequality, public policy, and economics and features professor Robert Reich.

Not sure if it's still available on netflix.
You don't improve the middle class by taking away from the productive and wealth is not a zero sum game.

And Robert Reich is a leftist clown who's made millions espousing a false narrative.

It's not about the game being rigged, it's about playing the game well.
My children will employ your children because my children were taught to rule, not taught to be whiney little lemmings
Do you mean, 'your children were taught to cheat, defraud and steal'? Or are you thinking of raising your children so as to not emulate yourself?

The sad thing is, most people aren't taught to think this way, and in fact are taught that jobs are the safe, sensible thing to get, to enable financial security. It's almost as much of a fuckup as religion is, this 'get a job, be safe' mindset that education/society at large promotes. Get taught that from the age of 6 when you get your first "so what job do you want when you grow up" question is asked, and it's a cycle of shit brainwashed into most people from a young age.

If there's any 'breaks', it's those lucky enough to have not had that indoctrinated into them, and those, to use my own experience, lucky enough to be so anti-authority from childhood that they say fuck the status quo I'll do it a different way thanks

I do think the web is opening up more than just the knowledge of academia in that awareness that jobs are just temporary, you *can* learn/do something you love and get paid for it, and so on is becoming more widespread. There's a hell of a lot of people out there who are imprisoned by mental fear thanks to what they've been led to believe - almost breaks my heart when I see close friends of mine truly sad in their 9 - 5 jobs but taking a leap is outside their comfort zone (mindset) thanks to their upbringing.

If I weren't such a lairy cunt who hates being told what to do by anyone I even slightly perceive as having authority, I'd be stuck in that shit too. Rambling as usual on here, but meh, people are people's worst enemy sometimes.

Do you not vote in the primaries?

Trump said in an interview earlier this week that it was weak and that there was no way in hell anybody is gonna take his microphone. And I believe him on that. He'd have security all over that shit in a New York minute.
