If ISIS carried out the Paris attacks, the US is partly to blame.

  1. The US destabalized Iraq in '03 causing a power vacuum.
  2. In '06 a small, shitty militant group called ISIS was formed in Iraq.
  3. They were unsuccessful, and then moved into Syria in 2009.
  4. Fast forward 4 years to 2013, and the US along with a few other countries started sending massive amounts of money, military equipment and training to the "Free Syrian Army".
  5. 1 year later, much of these resources were in the hands of ISIS.
  6. There were intelligence reports that US knew our resources would end up in the hands of ISIS, but we sent them anyways.

This allowed ISIS to become powerful, re-enter Iraq to claim territories and a lot of leftover US military equipment.

A more detailed account of the above information:

So when I get on social media and see so many espousing "#PrayforParis" hashtags, it's discouraging that so few of them truly realize that ISIS's rise to power was only made possible by the government they love so much.

US foreign policy is atrocious. So much of what we do, results in blowback. 9/11 and now Paris.

Yes the U.S. is to blame for a destabilized environment in the middle east. Europe is first-hand presentation of why you can't let liberal ideology control your national policy.

Let start by saying I was in Paris a few weeks ago so the events give me chills. I saw many moderate muslims just enjoying life like an western, christian-judeo, would. I still DO NOT agree that if you are an active participant in a war zone that you should just allow 2.6+ million of those fleeing that region to just walk into your countries. That is idiotic. Policies are so lax on immigration and "aslylum" in Europe this was bound to happen. It's sickening because it means more and more money flushed to the military industrial complex.

The reality is the only people with the power to stop extremism are the people themselves. Moderates of all faiths need to speak out whenever it is a group, solo act, or other who intends to do harm. These guys didn't do this shit in secret. Someone knew about it that was afraid to report it.

Of course religious fanaticism has been alive and well, far beyond WWI even.

But if ISIS, a rather modern incarnation, was to blame for Paris, and without our funding (intentional or not) would have never been able to pull off such attacks, then yes the US is partly to blame.

how much do you think some ak-47s, a few hundred bullets and some grenades cost?

blaming USA doesn't solve the problem. here, i'll show you- America is to blame for France. now what? how does that stop ISIS? how does that help anything? it doesn't. it doesn't matter now who or what is to blame for IS. the simple fact is IS is here and now and their caliphate is world destruction. none of that has to do with USA.

So you also think through absolutely no fault of US foreign policy (such as bombing the fuck out of middle eastern countries for decades), the US had absolutely nothing to do with being attacked on 9/11 too?

If so, would it be strange if you discovered a former head of the CIA disagreed with you?

We're known as the world police for a reason, we have hundreds of permanent military bases throughout the world. We routinely fuck around in the affairs of other countries.

All of this, regardless of our intentions, results in blowback in many forms.

It's not about "hating america", it's about being realistic and understanding that there are consequences when you don't stick to defense.

If our resources contributed to their expansion, yes, it definitely has something to do with the USA.

And the worthiness of pointing all of this out is to help educate the public, so that we can stop letting our rulers mindlessly play world police.

100% of the blame falls on the people who planned and carried out the attacks. Period.

we are the world's police. bad people are a fact and they are not bad people on account of, you know, America. they're bad people because bad people exist. USA didn't invent bad people, there were bad people and places long before USA. it's myopic to think otherwise and to think there isn't a need for world police.

Many of the pain and suffering caused throughout the world, was due to blowback brought on by needlessly aggressive US foreign policy.

Look at the million we killed in Iraq for christ's sake.

To argue that any of this is necessary is to be an authoritarian war monger.

why does your logic start in 2003? maybe you are just selecting your starting point on a bias perhaps. after all, your logic need not start in 2003. in 1998, al queda declared war an america, then 911, then iraq. theres no iraq war if theres no 911.

But wait! al queda formed in 1991 thanks to US planes in saudi arabia during iraq war I. but wait! US planes were in saudi arabia thanks to saddam invading kuwait. saddam is to blame! we can keep going, & blame george washington if you want.

the people directly to blame are 1) ISIS/al qaeda 2) maliki, 3) assad. They made it happen, mmmk?

clown.

I'm not so sure the two are related. The response to ISIS was certainly not proportional to the threat. We seemed to be waiting for their regions of syria to destabilize itself.

Somebody doesn't really understand what the Al Qaeda/ISIS flavor of Jihadism means, they believe that ANY non-believers, ANYWHERE on this planet, are their mortal enemies and their God has given them the right to kill non-believers because this entire planet MUST live under their God and his laws, according to their interpretation of Islam.

So you and the rest of the naive liberals can keep on believing that these attacks are retribution for our actions in the Middle Eastand that if we just butt our noses out of their business the terrorists will leave us alone but you'd be wrong.

Al Qaeda and ISIS really have no religious ideology, we know the losers who hijacked the planes on 9/11 were in a titty bar on prior nights, we know Bin Laden was watching porn in his hideaway in Pakistan. They're not devout Muslims, they're gangsters, sociopaths and psychopaths, the Jihadist ideology is just a ruse, they're after what every other gangster and psychopath is after - power and control over others, pleasure derived from violence, personal glorification, money and sex. They sell their Jihadist religious cause to Western media, bleeding heart liberals - and to the social rejects they recruit so when those rejects are ordered to blow themselves up into pieces they'll do it because it's for a greater cause than their pathetic lives.

An Eye For And Eye. Excellent video.

The American Military Empire is 100% to blame.

Of course the migrants want to leave their country. The Americans and allied countries went in there and destroyed their country to steal their resources.

What else are the migrants supposed to do? They have no choice but to go to France and surrounding countries.

What's worse, For some stupid reason the French Government and other countries keeps letting migrants in.

Its pretty obvious this was bound to happen. Arabs will never get along. They don't belong in France, they will never integrate into the French society or other societies.

They belong in a Arab country around their own people.

Not only that, but many will always have hatred for the countries that destroyed their country.

I strongly believe someday humans can live without in a borderless earth. But not in 2015. It's too early.

The only reason they are not flooding to the U.S.A. or Canada is because it's not in walking distance and there is no easy way to get there because of the ocean.

Instead of putting billions of money in war put it in education & science.

Governments and Citizens need to stand up to the U.S.A. and them to fuck off. Stop bombing countries and stop sending their troops to other countries.

Ruskie, I didn't claim USA shit hasn't fallen into ISIS hands. However, I am the one that understands how shit does fall into enemy hands. But I'm not the one pointing a hypocritical finger. That's you.

ISIS victories in Iraq and elsewhere are how USA materials fall into ISIS control. You certainly don't think USA is selling weapons to ISIS.

The West has to wake up to the facts. A lot of the is ruled by absolute ruthless bastards, because they're the only ones who can can control absolute ruthless bastards.

It's time to realise Assad is part of the solution, along with boots on the ground.

You want to know why? Because in the US Muslims and anyone else can come here bust their ass and have opportunity. They don't have the same opportunities in Europe, so it's much easier to brainwash extremist there than here.

It also helps they can't just walk here...

Yet you mention nothing of all the Soviet Era and modern Russian arms every terrorist in the world uses..

You sure don't see many tangos with m16s.. With out Russian weapons they would still be using bolt action rifles over there. The ex Soviet union countries have dumped weapons all over the globe but yea blame the U.S.
