Going to the dark side...
... Decided to grow my first ever beard (or stubble).
I have never had any kind of beard, I shave every second day or so. Not sure about real beard, but I will be starting with a stubble. I read that I should grow for 4-7 days and start trimming from there. Since GFY is full of beard experts, looking for tips and tricks. Movember 2016! |

Regarding the itch, yes it WILL itch like crazy until it reaches a certain length. This is especially true for 1st timers - Simply because if you regularly shave, your face isn't used to having the hair there in any more than trace amounts.
Simple answer to this is to wash your beard growth with hair conditioner. The 'Head and Shoulders' brand worked well for me. This softens the stubble and takes the itch away. As soon as it has reached a certain length, say after about a week and a half it will stop itching entirely. Why not take a pic of just your chin (No need to show your entire face) once a day. Then, once its grown, say after a month, put all the pics together to form an animated gif? Pretty cool and easy to do if you use a webcam on your computer to take the pics - You can easily get the exact same position and lighting each day Good luck and happy growing |

So I do not expect that I will look better, just wanted to add some novelty to how I look. Plus I tend to look much younger than my age so I hope to look more "serious" with a decent stubble I know that many women like that look, so will see what kind of feedback it will provide. |

I've used this for years now:
My facial hair gets too itchy to grow a beard. And itches like fuck a couple of days after a wet shave. So the istubble solved my problems... |

Is that the shortest setting shave with that trimmer on that dude's face? I may even consider that length, although it could barely be called a beard

If after a while you change your mind, make sure when you shave it off you will not be seen in public for a few days - You will look like an extra from a zombie apocalypse movie...
Sticking your face in a gallon drum of moisturiser helps..... |

That's probably on the shortest setting yeah. It's simple to change it though. I love it...

Beard oil daily. Helps with the itch and makes it fabulous to touch.

He is right there is no trick to this. Just stop shaving thats it. Once it gets long enough get a wood comb and some oil and there you have it!

Some chicks really dig beards. While I don't find men attractive at all, I just don't get that.

In this case it was not beneficial - while it attracted more clicks than title aboutr beards would have, it slipped through the eyes of some bearded dudes who would have opened the thread otherwise |

Well, if you read the thread you would see that I am going for stubble length, so no curling.
Secondly - if I had a problem with curling I would always have an option to shave/trim it at any moment I saw it starting to curl. Thirdly - I saw many beards and I am aware that most of them curls |
