Bring up that you have a Job related to Porn on a Date?

Hi all,

I recently became single and was gonna start dating again.

So my question is, what do you guys say when someone asks you what you do?
I usually say to that I'm a web developer (which is true) to strangers.
However 90% of my income is from working on websites that are related to porn (which I don't mention).
This works if you are on a first date, but if you date a girl for a long time it might be good to tell her more details about your work(?). But then she might get cold feet and might not wanna see you again...

I was together with my ex when I started to get in to working with porn and that wasn't a huge issue at first. But then she got really jealous and insecure about it, so I kind of chose my work over her at the end (we had other problems as well tho)...

Let me know your thoughts and experiences, and any advice you have!

Just blurt it out casually in the beginning, "Oh, I work in porn.".

You can then even take it a step further, and act as if you're an actor in porn flicks. After having some fun with the role-play, you can just assure her that you only develop and own some websites. An entreprenur. She'll probably be relieved.

If you're secretive or ashamed of it, it will never work. That will make you seem like a shady and not confident person, which is very unattractive to girls. Being a truck driver can also be a great job, or a shit one - it's in the eye of the beholder. If you're a confident, happy man, and she's open-minded, she'll have no problem with it. I find it that it's even exciting to many girls.

If porn is very much against her morals, she would be a waste of time to you anyway. It's better to find out early.

If she's interested in what you do, you should explain to her what kinds of things you do on a day-to-day basis. When she realizes that running a porn site is more like a boring, administrative, office job, than a drunken fuckfest, she'll probably view it differently.

It really depends on the chick and how serious you want things to get. If you're looking to get into a long term relationship, then you should fully disclose everything about your life and see how it goes. If it's just a "bang date", she may be even more turned on if you tell her. Hell, she might volunteer to be video taped (chicks love that shit).

I think it also matters what you do in the porn industry and how much money you're making. If you're an affiliate barely scraping $15,000 a year, then you probably shouldn't say anything. If you're a producer or program owner making $1M+ a year, you won't have to say anything. You can tell her you shoot snuff films in your basement, but as long as it's a basement in a $4M mansion and she can drive the Lambo...she wouldn't give a fuck.

It depends how you approach it. "I work in porn" would probably be a bit creepy to a lot of girls. Explaining what your job entails but mentioning its in the adult vertical, that is probably a better approach.

Porn is more mainstream than ever, big sites are mentioned daily on reputable publications so it isn't as taboo as it once was but I'd still treat it with a bit of respect on how you reveal it.

I would just stick to "I'm a web developer and some of my clients are adult sites". Then she can justify it to herself if she wants.

If you are just working on websites related to porn, and not meeting anyone, then it's not much different to just visiting porn sites, which pretty much every man does. Therefore, you're not that different ...

To the IRS or a bank you are a 'web developer'.

Why would you lie about your business (or avocation) ('job') on a date?

A lot of women get off on porn interest stuff ;)

Unless your work is tied to production , meaning you shoot content, you play in movies, or selling content, you are not related to porn. Same as most of your clients could be casinos and sportsbooks, but that does not mean automatically how you are gambler.

of course you are "related to porn"... it's like saying the crack peddler on the corner isn't in the drug industry, because he didn't grow/harvest/etc the coca plants, or smuggle the coke in, or cook up the actual crack...

so I would stfu about it, and say as little as possible, and when you say anything be vague "I have some clients that work in the adult industry"... unless things are getting pretty serious, then you have no choice but to tell her, she will eventually find out anyway...

Most of my dates come as a result of performing. Mainstream people I've met follow the same pattern as your ex: fascinated or ambivalent at first, but slowly jealous. I've made several friends/fuckbuddies and a long term relationship (now over, but still the very best of friends) with guys whom I met for the sole purpose of shooting a scene with me.

It is a little different in gay culture though; so many guys are still DL because of fear for their jobs or families, the idea of dating a porn performer is more than they can handle. I fuck them once and send them home. Of course, I wouldn't date a closeted guy anyway (if I wanted a pussy, that's what I'd ask for), so disclosing that I make my living by letting people watch me have sex speeds the process.

I'm confused why it is so important to get into details about it? You've already said "what" you do - why go into your clients/industry - simply put - both mainstream and adult.

Unless you met her on christian mingle or EHarmony - it's YOU putting emphasis on it that would make her wonder why you had to mention it in the first place as though you were guilty of something.

If you are looking for sex it depends what she wants to hear. If you want a relationship, never hide anything from her. You don't have to bring it up, but if she asks be sure to answer honestly and in a matter of fact tone.

If it's a skank whore that needs throbbing cock in her anus then I'd be as graphic as possible to excite her.
If a good girl "Internet Marketing" works.

Casual dating / hookups - You can mention it since these chicks tend to be more open minded and just looking for "now" They will probably find it interesting and impressive especially if this is making you a good amount of money.

Any girl you are seriously trying to date I would say "Internet Marketing" at first to play it safe. If the relationship keeps growing, you can divulge details later. Just don't sound creepy or weird about it. Unless you're creepy or weird.

When I was dating, I totally said I WORK IN PORN. I'd use it as an ice breaker.

I've found most women are super interested and I've had some really cool conversations.

I think the key is not to say it in a Quasimodo voice while you rub your groin and stare at her tits.

Then you could also say how Vatican is porn peddler, just because they have share in companies which sell porn along other things which they doing.
