Tube Content Partner Program Questions?

Hey Guys, I'm hoping to get some feedback from those who have been participating in content partner programs at the various tube sites:

1. If you had to pick just one tube site to have as a content partner which one would it be and why?
2. What is the minimum required runtime for your favorite content partner program and what would you recommend as the runtime for a site who's average member's area video length is about 15min?
3. What bitrate do you use for the videos you submit to the content partner program? Do you lower the bitrate so the quality of the video submitted to the tube site is not as good as what you're offering in your member's area or do you give them your vids at your highest bitrate?

Any other content partner program issues to consider? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Jake,

Great to see your site back up.

I submit to tubes daily even though the content is different from yours happy to tell you where I'm submitting.

I'm up in Summit County these days.

Hey Dave, first I have to address this part of your post "Great to see your site back up." The site has never been down and has been consistently active since the day we launched it over 13 years ago in 2003. It was never down at any point and Allie has been actively engaged with her members the entire time.

Funny, if you don't post on GFY for awhile the people here seem to think you must not be in the business any longer or something. We just re-launched the site with a new design and remastered videos and photos and a bunch of other cool features. Some people on here seem to think the number or frequency of your posts is some sort of measure of how you're doing. Some of the most successful people in this business have never even posted on this board or they may post occasionally when they feel they have something to contribute.

Anyway, that being said thank you for your compliments and your offer to share your experience with the tubes. Depending on where you are in Summit County perhaps we could do lunch at Giampietro's or if you're further west we could do Sweet Basil. Would be nice to spend some time with someone else in the industry and exchange ideas, etc.

I used to submit some, and found great differences, not only in CTR but also in the traffic productivity for the same clips / landers etc.

Some are just not worth the hassle and keep in mind the only proper way to do this would be to give you a part of the revenue the videos generate with the ads once the video is played.

Say if you get 1 sign up for 50 000 video views and even if you make $ 50 avg. per join, you still just made 50 000 + impressions for all the ads around your video. One should establish and keep a similar metrics in mind when measuring productivity.

Otherwise, even if you factor in the occasional type in joins you simply give out content to somebody else to profit from and get no returns. Although some tubes dominate search results and get a sheer volume this doesn't make their traffic in combinatoin with your clips / site productive.

If somebody looks for your content on tubes at least make sure they find it on the tube that performs the best.

Also be careful about the licensing terms / embedding / downloads etc. not to be surprised.

Anyway to the questions:

1) yes there is one site that, based on experience, outperformed all the others, can share via email / IM
2) testing will determine this, however no matter what length I'd go for a good edit with enough branding, in high video quality
3) good video quality will make your content stand out as opposed to all the older, lesser quality stuff and make people search for more and return to it

Based on experience it's the good, not bad experience on tube that eventually makes somebody sign up for your site. It's bookmarkers or those that return and have good experience on site that are more likely to return to your content, some of which may eventually buy.

Thanks again for the detailed reply Carl!

Why would you limit yourself to one tube site to submit to. You can hit me up and I can help you. We have a great network of sites with a kick ass platform.
