He has upset countless people he could never afford to upset, just by running, much less by all of the rest of everything he has said. He's burned extreme numbers of bridges and he knew he would be losing huge amounts of personal capital and every kind of thing in so many ways
He has pissed off so many powerful garbages at this point, his business life will NEVER be the same, and he knew this was one of the costs of it when he went in.

That is why I have so much respect for him
