Trump trolls, put the money down: Here?s what bookies think of a Trump-Clinton showdown

Here’s what bookies think of a Trump-Clinton showdown | New York Post

Donald Trump may feel invincible right now, but he?s still an underdog going into the general election.

Hillary Clinton is the favorite to win in November at odds of 4-11, according to the online bookmaker Ladbrokes ? meaning you?d have to wager $11 to win $4.

The New York City tycoon, meanwhile, is a 9-4 underdog, according to the bookmaker?s website.

Betting on the presidential race is illegal in the United States, but the online odds capture the zeitgeist.

?The interest is huge,? said UK-based Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Donohue. ?We can?t get Donald Trump off the pages of our newspapers and our TV screens.?

That article forgets to mention that the Trump's odds of winning are highest ever:

so as of 05/06/2016 his odds are about 25%+, and that's mostly among European "investors", which tend to be a bit more left leaning than the US... combine that with general "underdog bias" and his real odds of winning are probably closer to 1/3rd...

those are pretty decent odds I think, certainly far from "that nutjob will never make it past the primaries" that people were saying just few months ago...

Either the Republicans or the Democrats could nominate a dead fish and it would get 33% of the vote this year

Several years ago I was playing in a heads up no limit hold 'em tournament, that I orchestrated. Of everyone playing, I was the only one with any experience playing heads-up. It plays quite differently than a 6, 9, or even 4 player table.

It was the 1st round, my opponent was really weak. I knew his playing style quite well because I had played many times with him shorthanded and full table. My stack was twice the size of his and I was in position to wipe him out. He was in on a hand that I had him crushed on. He would have called all-in had I pushed, but we were only a few hands in and I wanted to play a bit.

The next 3 hands in a row I lost, he had better cards. My cockiness got the better of me.

Never underestimate what can happen when there are uncontrollable variables. Trump has already beat all of the odds time and time again. Brushing him off as another pesky Sanders is going to land Clinton in a heap of trouble.

so how many of you are putting down $1k or $10k, or whatever you are comfortable with at a betting site, and scoring easy ~50% profit in a few months? After all Trump has no chance of winning, so it's easy $$, right?

oh, that's right, none of you...

Your calculator is way off. $11 to win $4
Now if "Trump Express" passengers put their money down, they will triple it. But although they do sound stupid, they are not that stupid.

I'd like to see him win, for me it's a combination of me liking drama/trainwrecks as entertainment AND I think it's possible he might make a good president proving that an outsider who isn't a career politician/lawyer can do the job. I like that he doesn't talk in 'politician speak' but I do wish he'd be better informed on foreign and domestic policy issues. It's good to simplify your message, so people understand the direction you're going in but you'd hope the guy with the simple message understood the complexities involved.

Clinton will win.

Why?

Trump has insulted most women (lost the female vote) and I suspect that the bulk of the USA is middle class and would prefer Clinton.

Plus Trump is just a fat flump who is rude and just says what comes into his fat head and has zero political experience, while Clinton has has had one of the top jobs in politics.

To be honest if Trump wins I think it would do the USA great harm. For one thing he would do great harm to the USA brand and so I would suspect make USA products less wanted outside the USA (if that makes sense).

Do wives in the US often vote differently then their husbands? I don't think the female vote will be that effected. If I was going to vote and my wife was going to vote opposite we may as well not go because we'd cancel each other out to begin with...

To me Trump is a bit like UK's Nigel Farage.

Everyone thought Nigel Farage/UKIP were going to be popular. While in the media yes, when it comes to votes not so much.

Trump gets on the news simply as he is just some fat rich clown. But his appeal is only to a small minority.

I would suspect women will vote for Clinton, and others may vote Clinton simply as they will not vote Trump.

But given that I suspect that the bulk of the USA is middle class. I suspect most will go Clinton.

To be honest I found the remark Trump gave calling Clinton a Bitch was vile. I was also offended that Trump said someone who had been in war and got captured, a looser (or somthing like that), on the basis one of my relatives spent time in German prisoner of war camp during WWII.

Trump is just a big fat bag of lard with no manners, who thinks because he is rich, he is a gentleman with taste. He is neither a gentleman, nor has he taste.

UKIP Was very popular and got quite a bit of the TOTAL vote but only got a couple of people into parliament due to how the voting system works in the UK. I do however think a country should be run as a business and he's got everything he could ever want already so is financially uncorruptable...

You presume everyone is married.

Also you presume the husband has influence on his wife. I know many men who will not go to the loo unless there wives allow them to.

One thing too, Clinton will have the money to run her campaign. I think Trump is using his own money (a vastly smaller amount of cash).

I also suspect Clinton will have more people out supporting her too.

I also wonder if you were not native to the USA (say in the last ten years) if you would support Trump. I suspect many who are say from Mexico, or indeed non Christian would support Clinton. I suspect too Clinton may get the Gay vote too.

The ONLY vote I can see Trump getting is the angry working class vote who believes that Trump can do somthing to get USA products selling better. And I think in truth Trump will do the opposite.

The truth is, people will from outside the USA welcome Clinton. And in tern countries will do trades with the USA and in tern, the USA will prosper.

If Trump will I suspect he will not be popular. In the UK he is already unpopular. Just think of the harm Trump could do. Ford sells many cars in the UK. I do not think you realise what harm could to for USA trade and business.

Sure.

But the bulk of those in the UK are not UKIP supporters.

UKIP appeal to the uneducated working class.

The truth is, UKIP support drops down vastly in the middle class or those who have been to university.

In fact UKIP are loosing members.

They used to be a get out of the EU party. Now they are just an anti immigration party.

Its easy, blame others for everything. Its not your fault your sat at home watching TV all day and have no job as you cannot be bothered to go get a job, or think your too good to do a cleaning job as clearly you should be the director of ICI. No, its the fault of those migrants who dare to travel thousands of miles, to come to the UK. Then have the cheek to get a job and work really hard all day long, and have pride in what they do. How dare they. How dare educated nurses come in from other countries and work at the NHS saving your fat lazy ass. It will always get votes. Its easer to blame others than take responsibility.

One thing too, is the Pope condemned Trump.

So that's the catholic vote gone (including Irish and Italian votes).

And rather than trying to win votes back, Trump then insulted the pope.

So if Trump wins he has alienated probably all catholic countries.

Is this how this fat lump of lard does business by insulting as many customers he can?

Trump wants to fuck up the world economy and specifically downgrade faith in US Bonds.

Donald Trump’s Idea to Cut National Debt: Get Creditors to Accept Less

Mr. Trump told the cable network CNBC, “I would borrow, knowing that if the economy crashed, you could make a deal.”

yea, like left wing solutions are that much better... their solution is to continue to promise people more freebies we can't afford, continue making government bigger and bigger... those are some great, well thought out solutions for addressing the national debt problem...

I don't think she will win easily at all. He disrupts and then takes advantage of the chaos. Opponents eventually imagine they need to be like him to beat him, and become a caricature of him, based on the widely held pejorative view of him, rather than what he is. I think Clinton will win, but it will be a much harder fight than anyone thinks.

Yea cause clearly intentionally driving the country to default on its debt is better than feeding poor people.

You fucking Trumpanzees are delusional.

BTW Obama has cut the deficit in half, unlike your boy Bush.

And none of that is the interest on the debt ran up by Reagan and Bush or the $1.4 Trillion annual deficit Bush left Obama with.

Yup, Obama spent $9 trillion.

You still don't understand the deficit, do you.

being extremely popular among trailer trash mouth breathers doesn't have much weight against the entire population of the US.

Of course you will have pretty wild variance in heads up SNG type of play .. especially if you had those wonderful double the blinds every two minutes type of rules a lot of not in a casino tournaments tend to have
You are right though- anyone who is not aggressive or who looks at their cards in heads up play needs to go back to grade school and let the grown folks handle things

Be aggressive, make money, because fuck everything
Always remember in life:
Nothing matters to anyone
and
Fuck everything

Hahahahaha
I blame you for losing since you said "call all in" but you still make a very interesting point, there

Nope. Clinton has INSULTED WOMEN by talking to them as if she's some desperate man trying to hit on them at closing time ...
Hillary got her stupid lines she can puke up all over repetitively . . She sounds just like a square talking to a woman saying a bunch of false idiocy

When Hillary talks to women you can just hear some guy drunk as hell and smelling like a bus station walking up on some sexy bitch , he's standing there telling her "oh is that a planet because I love those globes and you're a star"

Hillary, like the male who will never be inside of the woman he ever talks to, definitely thinks she's really making time and getting somewhere

They may both think that they are slick
They may both think they have so much game

But when it comes down to it, no one wants to sleep with some scary unkempt annoying guy any more than they want to vote for Hillary Clinton
When it is all said and done they're both just annoying undesirables with worn out statements and a lot of addled lies to annoy everyone with

Hillary should just say to the women "Hey babeee watz yo SIGN babey" ... it'd at least be a substantive statement and make a tiny bit of sense

See

PS: You tell me how the USA "brand" could get ANY WORSE or how Trump could fuck shit up ANY WORSE than the people I have seen running everything for decades and I'll eat a hat. We could not BE more woefully hopelessly FUCKED in our giant clusterfuck of idiocy and fuckery over here. It's on its way into the ground as it is, at least he gives us a fighting chance AT ALL.
It never ceases to amaze me that everyone truly believes that we can keep piling on TRILLIONS in debt and promises while we watch oil coming at us like a freight train while we allow God knows WHO to control our money and enslave us all .. meanwhile the insane monkies making laws and policy and everything else could not BE more stupid
We survive crooked politicians and we expect them
Stupid we won't make it through much longer

So in summation I disagree with your post

How did this work out for Argentina or Greece?

What an asshat

Quote:
After assuring Americans he is not running for president ?to make things unstable for the country,? the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald J. Trump, suggested that he might reduce the national debt by persuading creditors to accept something less than full payment.

Asked on Thursday whether the United States needed to pay its debts in full, or whether he could negotiate a partial repayment, Mr. Trump told the cable network CNBC, ?I would borrow, knowing that if the economy crashed, you could make a deal.?

He added, ?And if the economy was good, it was good. So, therefore, you can?t lose.?

Such remarks by a major presidential candidate have no modern precedent. The United States government

How insane, how truly nuts, is it that Donald Trump is actually the presumptive nominee of a major party for president of the United States?

So nuts that The Donald has finally come out with his Big Plan for the Economy: Let?s make like Greece and default on the national debt. Put this on a cheap hat: Let?s Make Greece Great Again.

Speaking on CNBC on Thursday, Trump floated his plan to deal with the national debt: Ask creditors to take a haircut, or a reduction in the face value of their debt, which is a default, in exchange for ? what exactly? Well, exactly nothing. But thinking has never been a prerequisite for speaking in Trumpland.

Who are you calling an ass hat while talking about our nation's credit rating? You should be talking about any candidate on either side of the aisle I HAVE EVER SEEN
I remember a few years ago the USA had our credit rating downgraded and I didn't remember that EVER happening, before ... then the media got very loudly silent about it , I don;t even know what ever happened

But if we want to keep running this clusterfuck of insolvent outright FINANCIAL LUNACY- you had better prepare for a LOT worse than what he is speaking on

We are NO DIFFERENT from these other nations who end up with billion dollar notes, you know, how the hell do you think that shit STARTS?
Have a look at America and you will find out

FFS

No one makes any sense,
You will sit there and you're against the ONLY CANDIDATE who ACTUALLY wants to DO ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT

I'm at a loss with most people these days at times
I guess we should just ride this train into the side of the mountain right up to the end

Let's keep watching our infrastructure and our financial system and our educational system and our health care system fall apart while going into some more trillions of debt and promises we haven't paid for
Probably won't be ABLE to pay for
But the only candidate to ever want to STOP all of this is so bad

once again, extremely naive bronco who doesn't have a clue how the world works is judging other people for being stupid. Classic corrupt war criminal supporter tactic

I love how the Trump haters claim Trump supporters are stupid. Acting high and mighty while you are the one that doesn't have a clue. Continue to sleep and believe the media buddy, i don't think you'll ever wake up. Sweet dreams!
