yes but a ladder is like 30$ why go to the trouble of digging a tunnel?...its like putting a fence around your garden...its nice and decorative and is OK for keeping animals out, the neighbors poodle wont shit on your lawn etc but lets get real here

Mitch...I disagree - and the reasons are:
1. There is 700 miles of wall already built between 2006 and 2009 and it hasn't stopped anything
2. In order to be completely effective, you would have to build another 1400 or so miles of wall and patrol it...and a lot of that goes through private and indian reservation land where the US cannot enforce or build a wall...so that is a physical reason it wont help
3. As soon as the other wall was built tunnels were dug in the right places to ensure the free flow of drugs and weapons into the country, and it will continue
4. Congress will never authorize near enough money to build a real wall - instead they will put up the cheapest shit they can find to satisfy the claim that they "finished building the wall" - again - no deterrence
5. Most of the illegal immigrants came to the US legally - they just aren't legal anymore - and this will keep happening - and happens not just from mexico - from all over the world and while it makes for great soundbites...the wall doesn't stop people from flying into the country

Actually it's a great question - since the concrete supplier that will get the contract is a Mexican owned business with it's headquarters in the US and most of the construction labor in that part of the country is either green card or illegal immigrants

I couldn't agree with you more.

If we want to build a wall and make it effective, we would have to go all out. We would have to build the Berlin wall but on steroids. It would have to be deep so they couldn't go under it, be tall so they couldn't go over it, anti aircraft to shoot down any attempts to go over it, and all of it would have to be patrolled.

And still that won't stop them. They will fly over the United States to Canada to visit and then just cross that border, legally or illegally.
