The reason is they are cheap and it brings down the price of the USA ones...400$ hammer etc...

My first drone was a DJI. After I bought it I had to update the software online. If anyone else here has seen the software it's dodgy as fuck, at least back when I had a DJ it was (2013). A "software update" from a military IP could easily be a spyware update
