Star Trek Fans
Did you watch Star Trek: Discovery yesterday?
I was surprised - it was great! The characters are great, story is really interesting so far, and the visual effects are beautiful and cinematic.

I am furious.
I thought the show was great. This might just be the Star Trek we've been waiting decades for. However, fuck CBS. They want me to pay to watch Star Trek? I pay for cable TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, not to mention two different music services, and CBS wants me to pay for yet another service? No. In fact, fuck no. I am really upset about this. I see what they are trying to do. They want to bypass the traditional TV business model in place since long before we were born, and get the customers to come to CBS directly and pay CBS directly. However, just like the music industry, they missed the boat on this. Instead of banding together and creating one service for all TV / Movie studios, they fought the technology and allowed Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon do it. I am not going to be paying CBS $6, NBC $6, ABC $6, and a dozen other channels $6 a month plus Netflix, Amazon Prime, plus cable TV (plus music!). I love Star Trek, always have. When I first met my wife she wrote down her phone number on Star Trek stationary (which I still have here in my home office) but frankly I can live without "Discovery" until it comes out on DVD and then just buy it used off of Ebay to ensure no money doesn't go to CBS. I already complained directly to CBS too.

I had basically given up on Star Trek..after JJ Abrams took his vision to mass audience and changed the Star Trek universe.
I am hoping for good things with this. I am really hoping Worfs family makes an appearance in the Klingon war. Good tv time for us..The Orrville is decent as well |
