OJ Simpson freed after nine years in jail for armed robbery

OJ Simpson has been released from a Las Vegas jail on parole after serving nine years for armed robbery.

The former American football star was sentenced to a maximum 33 years in jail for a botched raid of sports memorabilia from a hotel room.

He said the items were images of his family and friends and were later handed over to him by officials after it was decided they legally belonged to him.

Simpson, 70, was famously cleared in 1995 of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in a case that drew worldwide attention and became known as the "Trial of the Century".

A civil court jury subsequently found him liable for the deaths and ordered him to pay $33.5m (£26m) in damages to the victims' families, a judgment that remains largely unpaid.

He should stay in jail until he pays the money he had a court award the families.

How, exactly, is he supposed to pay the money awarded to those people from jail?

I personally think he is guilty of murder and should spend the rest of his life in jail but the justice system says otherwise. At least, with him out, he can get a job or do some things to earn money that can then go to those people.

He cannot be held accountable for not paying and his $25,000 per month retirement is not touchable and in Florida a multi million dollar home is not touchable, but at this point it appears that Florida is not going to allow him to reside in the State.

BTW, he does not owe any court ordered fines. He owes money to the Goldman's.
