I would never visit such website because: shitty layout (on desktop) and shitty content. And there are many websites where I simply hate the mobile version. I prefer the desktop version or the application in Google Play.

I also wonder, what will Google do if for example institution websites have no mobile version? What will they serve in first result? I can count hundreds of such websites where I live.

Not saying having mobile version is bad, but there is still some grey area to take care of. Also all new phones come with bigger resolutions, having to scroll down on mobile version of some sites is a pain in the ass.

they do not care if you call a mobile page on a desktop because even there you can see it. the other way round it is harder and thatīs why google decided a huge while ago to make the mobile index the FIRST index.

I guess Google saw that they make lots of money via Mobile. I find more sales come from desktop users than mobile ones.

Well, it depends on the niche or product. In adult if people are going to pay for videos (which they don't do as much anymore) then I'd imagine that they'd want to enjoy it on a larger screen. Same with chat.

Dating can be either or, perhaps more so at a desktop at home if you need privacy.

Mainstream can be both with mobile sales being higher than desktop.

I also get more paysite sales from desktop users vs. mobile but I feel that is changing. I am changing my sites over to responsive designs and that's the solution I think. Find that balance between looking good on desktop AND mobile and then you are golden.

At least that's the working theory at the moment.

One possible source of the downward trend I would say is Tumblr. Tumblr used to be a treasure trove of porn and millions of backlinks came from there. Once Tumblr changed their policies towards adult and made adult pages not indexed in Google, links went down with it. This is not likely the only source, but you can bet Tumblr's change in policies had an affect.

thatīs the working practice if you fuck mobile you fuck 70% of your sales.

if you talk about mobile and desktop sales you have also look a bit deeper in the flow.
what you will observer than is that you get i.e. single opt ins with the mobile phone but the double opt in comes from desktop.
also you see many joins with mobile but the final payment is made on the desktop (it is even more comfortable to pay there) but the first contact is the one what makes you the later sale and this happens DEFINITELY today mainly on phones an more and more on tablets. i can even see a huge increase of sales through smart TVs.

the world today is not "a computer" it is a network of devices a user have and all this devices are somehow connected together.
you can even bookmark a side on your phone and find it later in your desktop bookmarks.

i tell you waht - i really made millions in the good times of mobile (good means easy to sell because it was new) but as much as i hate this shit (because it is quite complicated to deal with it) i would say NOBODY can survive these days anymore by ignoring mobile.
and i do NOT mean mobile as an own economy as it was before - i mean mobile as part of what a user is today.

example: do you really know HOW BIG the asian market is ? thailand, china, singapore, india etc etc... in this countries 90% of the complete internet traffic is made with mobile devices.
i still know webmasters who are blocking this countries instead of making money with them.

That's an excellent point! When Twitter follows suit then watch how the SERPs change. This is always the case when one of the Top 50 websites on the planet makes a change. It affects millions of users and definitely has a trickle-down effect.

Mostly I agree (see below). We reached the "tipping point" with mobile about two years ago. I noticed in my stats then how mobile was overtaking desktop in terms of traffic.

And yes indeed MANY people check out a site on mobile then re-visit the site later on desktop to confirm their impressions and make a sale. (This is also one of the reasons I do not like 'micro billing' via mobile, or pay-per-minute. The user experience is so much better on desktop.)

This is why I think responsive designs are better than two different mobile/desktop versions. The responsive should look good and the same on all devices.

But when it comes to China, India, etc? YES they are obsessed with mobile BUT they are (mostly) broke motherfuckers who either won't pay for porn, can't pay for porn or chargeback porn. Fuck them (and this is why most Webmasters block them).

a few years ago you would hear the same from me :-)

but a few billion broke motherfuckers can make a big mountain of shit.

AND in regards of mobile you should not only think about indians when you speak about india - the big difference between than and now is that in desktop times people where in internet when they are at home - now they are in internet wherever they are.

i could show you some astonishing results when it comes strategies what are targeting
geo-groups what are NOT in the geo.

just think in truck drivers, travelers, offshore workers etc.... meanwhile you can even reach them when they are sitting in plane.

THIS is what i mean with the walls and the windmills - there is something usable in ANY situation you just have to find it. most people are losing because they are glued on the bad in the bad.

if you find a peace of dog shit in the street donīt walk around it. take it home to your garden, plant a tree and fertilize it with the shit.

Heh I bet your wife loves that shit. LOL

But I do agree about India, travelers, etc. But I do not buy traffic. Again for paysites not that great. But I do get sales from Asia and india so I do not actually block them. Now Russia is another story....and Australia, those CB motherfuckers....LOL

Is Twitter planning a similar move to de-index or remove porn? I don't really follow twitter so I'm somewhat unfamiliar if any changes are planned.

What you said about Tumblr above was spot on. I had lots of inbound links from them at one point and then they vanished when Tumblr made that change.

I've heard talk about Twitter de-indexing porn but we'll see if it ever happens. Like every other platform, banning porn means lots of lost visitors and revenue. Their links as you know are shortened and I'm not sure if that devalues them or not, but I've changed and no longer count on social media links as I see my efforts will be wasted in the long run.

The only links I try to get now are one from authority sites, which aren't easy to get, or even buy.

Absolutely Tumblr mattered, it was an enormous collection of adult links that was around for 5+ years. Once they de-indexed these pages, their links would have a trickle down effect that would take several months to feel.

I honestly can't think of any authoritative adult site that allows do-follow links in 2018. For purchase or organic. When Tumblr changed from a full link to a link shortener and then made them no-follow it was a major change, but when they de-indexed via robots.txt, that was the final nail in the coffin for Tumblr. Adult marketing in 2018 is surely going to be a rough one.

As long as Twitter is not profitable they will not ban Adult. But as soon as they figure out how to monetize Twitter the clock will start ticking.

Facebook faced similar issues early on. You used to be able to post softcore non-adult non-nude "sexy" photos but they ban anything that looks sexy now. Twitter will follow suit but it's not on the immediate horizon. I hope. LOL

thatīs exactly my overall point !

to understand rankings and short and longterm effects you have to see the whole thing.
cause and effect are sometimes so far away from each other that you miss to see the connecting point and that leads to conspiracy theories what are nonsense.

if someone really understand the gaussian equal distribution he really understand already 50% of the necessary to understand streams and markets.

streams and markets are waves and waves are ups and downs - but ups AND downs are energy what one can use.
in regards to google it means that traffic is not gone but it have changed.

at the moment there are MANY reasons for what we see. one of them is indeed googles new chrome browser and itīs relation to the coalition of better ads.

as far as I can see now this thing is going on since a while because yesterday the first editor results came out and that gave me a huge AHAAA effect.

this thing will change the complete internet - it is the biggest earthquake in the internetīs history and I really do not know yet HOW google wants to handle that issue.
but the strategy google have is now very clear for me.

it will not effect the small sites with few traffic that much as it will effect the big ones but BECAUSE it is hitting the big ones it will have the same trickle down effect to everyone shortly.

so for my opinion google shows at the moment a status quo what is not really reliable because they HAD TO "pause the time" to realize what they wanted to realize.
that explains the slow actions google took in the past months and much more of the mysteries we have seen.

this change will give us all a hard time but I see it positive in long term.

so my recommendation for now is not buy and not sell but HOLD.

Well all this sounds very cryptic. So what was the AHA moment you had? What is Google's Big Plan? What is this earthquake that will rock the Internet of which you speak?

Yes I agree traffic is not "gone" but rather it has shifted. Like when people asked why paysite sales were down while cams and dating were up. Same thing, the customer just shifted from one to the other, or new technology enticed them to change.

But I do not see how Google serving up shit results is doing to help anyone.

well thatīs not in short words to explain but if you are a bit familiar with "better ads coalition" and the new chrome browser you know that google is on the way to crate a
(long overdued) standard for advertising.

if you look at the rules of this coalition you will understand fast that this can not be done by an algorythm. and now it is a fact that ALL this thousands and thousands of publishers who received already mail from google yesterday have been proven MANUALLY.

i really donīt know how many editors google have for that but the number must be HUGE because EVERY EDITOR ACTION is proven with a VIDEO !!!!!
you can see with your own eyes how a human editor went over your domain to check every thing by hand and some of this videos are up to 30 minutes long.

EVERY issue is decribed with an additional screenshot and a manually notice.

now think about that. to check the whole web this way is IMPOSSIBLE !!!!!!

google can only check the top traffic sites (what is already a HUGE number)

next logic:

IF there would be changes between the top rankings in that time - it would be a neverending story to finish that because if a top rank is replaced by another domain they would have start the same thing again every day and never come to and end.

beside that google CAN reach the effeect they want when they are only targeting the top sites. they are doing 80% of all traffic and the rules they need will be the standard everywhere and for everybody because every network and every advertiser will have to go with their rules if they wan the traffic.

that means: they need to drive the car in the garage while they work on it - what means "to stop the time" OR "click on pause" to keep the top results in the position.

as one can see on the results google shows you you can see that this is not a new process. the oldest reviews iīve seen are from early september last year - the newest ones where reviewed yesterday.

SEPTEMBER !!!!! - do you see the connection ???

I have actually information from over 200 domains what are reviewed manually - all of them are domains with more than 20 k users per day and a major traffic part from google.

smaller sites are all status "not checked yet".

is it clearer now what i mean?

When Google Human Editors do a manual review they are also training a Neural Network / Machine Learning platform. Many reviews are done by this platform and not a human. As the Machine Learning gets better, less human reviewers will be needed and greater scale will be achieved.

By authoritative I meant other adult sites and blogs that have been around a long time, that are popular in their own respective niches and are seen as 'Brands.' Kind of like Rabbit's or Voyeurweb etc... But I agree that top authority sites like Twitter/Tumblr are gone for good.

Yes, 2018 will be a challenge.

nope - not as far as I saw up to here.
I have seen a review of ONE DOMAIN with 22 videos and a few dozend screenshots with descriptions (where you can even see writing mistakes)

If you have any high traffic site you will find this soon in webmaster tools.
80% of my publishers and 100% of my high traffic publishers see that already for ALL hightraffic sites we have in the network (and that are not few).

I would say that 50-60% of all banners what are used in Adult and 95% of all banners used with CPM ads will not be accepted anymore and the spot will be blocked from the new Chrome.

good days for banner designers !

The first one hit with that is tumblr itself. It tumbled from 40 to 57 on Alexa. That is a huge loss in traffic. More than half of their traffic is gone.

well that is possibly the huge number of webmasters what are not uploading there any more. so maybe the rest of the traffic is real good user traffic

it does not really matter if a link is follow or nofollw for the site what is linked there.
with nofollow a site only does not make this link to itīs own content. also there will not be a TR or PR given but the importance of TR and PR is anyway
very small meanwhile and does not have a significant effect.

means: if the link is bad it will not effect the site what gives the link - if the link is good it will also not give the positive effect of this link to the given site.

Problem is in small players, have you even checked 2d page and 3d page to see what's there? Or are those pages not significant?? Also in your screenshot you can see 2 places for xvideos and 2 places for pornhub. That's like searching for a laptop in Google and first 4-6 places are Amazon. Get the point? As stated above, problem is that further pages are very thin in adult results and very filtered.
I agree, I can only see Xvideos, Pornhub, Xhamster, XNXX from my country. I swear, no other porn site except that 4 adult site.

Is Tumblr still good for NON-ADULT SEO?

Also, anyone use CLICKING services like serpclix to boost RANKBRAIN profile scoring?

i bet that your sites look spammy compared to this

thats why this rank so high, great simple site
Lol, you dont know anything about this right?
This guy is scraping every site ranking in top serps... He uses a random domain, scrap top ranked sites on google, outranking them and redirecting via 301 after that to what you call: "great for users, easy to navigate, clean, tagged with tons of self hosted content"

Yep, this is a fucking nice approach.. anybunny dot mobi is a great simple site like you said lol
