The Donald is calling Amazon a scam because it uses USPS to ship.

I personally do not think that the Donald is very bright but surely he is not so dumb that he doesn't know that if Amazon did not ship via USPS that USPS would be even deeper in the hole than what it is. I assume that he is simply trying to convince his dumb ass supporters that Amazon is scamming the Tax payers so that he can try to bring Amazon down by an Anti Trust Suite or just to try and embarrass the owner/founder whom also owns the Washington Post and the Post is one of the Donald's many critics.

With David Dennison... You use USPS you're evil, you don't use USPS you're a pro free market business patriot. Sad

Trump wants people to pay more for the services of the failing USPS that's been in the red for decades.

Trump wants people to pay more in taxes.

Trump = pro tax, anti free market, pro corporate welfare, pro foreign country occupation, pro suing to silence pornstar freedom of expression & he pays ZERO personal income tax, while increasing the personal income tax of his supporters.

I hope Bezos takes trumps word to heart and sets up his own deliveries and just relies on post for rural areas, face it 80% plus of their business will just come from major cities where they use couriers anyway.

If Bezos only held his money overseas and employed more people in foreign countries... Then Trumps would of given him a Tax break and ignored any laws he had broken.

I read in another article they spent around 20 billion on shipping last year. So if they can keep some of that in house.

Amazon is testing its own delivery service. If it succeeds, expect a price war

Chump wants to take us back into the 1950s. A forward thinker he is not.

You're such a fucking idiot.
High volume companies pay less per item than someone buying/mailing 1 item at a time

Not only does Chump save by using chinese labor to make his shit, I bet he saves per piece because he buys in bulk

let´s fill your fakenews filled brain with some facts

1. amazon receives THE SAME discount as any other other big customer from USPS
2. amazon is as far as i know the ONLY american company what charges sales taxes
in every state - even when they do not have a physical presence in this state and they
are not forced to do it. in 2017 that effected 106 Billion Dollars of sales where the states
made a tax income.
3. amazon also has a special agreement with the Postal Service to deliver packages on
sundays that helps the USPS to spread its costs over a seven-day week.
4. through amazon small business were able to make an additionally revenue of 32 billion
in the last year and have been able to make a higher profit (what will be taxed)
BECAUSE they can calculate with the cheaper amazon infrastructure and the benefits
of a bulk sender.

if amazon will stop sending with USPS it will hit them hard. the costs will not double they will triple - than say thanks to trump when you have to pay 300% more because bezos will use this argument to fuck him and open his own delivery service (i would if I would be bezos).

this again proves you how dumb, brainwashed and short-sighted you trumpeteers are.
don´t wonder when nobody with more than 2 working brain cells will ever take you seriously. you are a dumb kid to brainwash you is so easy that it can be done by a donkey.

If I was in charge of Amazon.... I would stop using the USPS. Problem solved.

Let's see how the USPS does without billions of dollars of business every year.

this is for sure something what will happen NOW.

amazon is big enough to do that but if they would do it without trumps "help" they would be blamed for it because it would cost jobs at USPS.
now he can do it without the risk to be blamed for it.

and again the ordinary people will pay the bill for trump´s incapability.
they just did not realize how huge this bill is meanwhile.

Amazon isn't setting the prices USPS is. Now that CHUMP has opened his undereducated trap Amazon will push forward with their own delivery service and USPS / UPS/Fedex will all lose out.

Thanks CHUMP you fucking moron!

You clowns actually believe that I'm wrong, along with Trump and all the analysts. We're not.

How the U.S. Postal Service has helped turn Amazon into a giant by undercharging them by $1.46 a package on postage

This Analyst Claims the U.S. Postal Service Is Giving Amazon a Huge Subsidy

USPS an "establishment of the executive branch of the Government of the United States", (39 U.S.C. § 201) as it is controlled by Presidential appointees and the Postmaster General.

So if Chump doesn't like it he can change it. And watch USPS lose billions when Amazon opens up "Amazon Mail" next year!!!

It is not quite that simple.

Since 1971 the USPS has been an "Independent" establishment of the executive branch. Since it is independent it does NOT take it's orders directly from the executive branch, nor does the executive branch control it.

The Postmaster General is NOT a Presedintial appointee but instead is appointed by the Governors of the Postal Service.

The Board of Governors are Presidential appointees but there are strict rules, including professional requirements, on who may be appointed. They are currently appointed for a term of 7 years.

Right now, the only members of the Board of Governors are the Postmaster General and the Deputy Postmaster General. So Trump can appoint the 9 Governor seats that have been vacant since like 2010 because of Congress failing to approve any appointments. But as I stated, there are actually professional requirements and he cannot just pick his friends.

United States Postal Service
The Post Office Department was transformed into the United States Postal Service, an independent establishment of the executive branch of the Government of the United States. The mission of the Postal Service remained the same, as stated in Title 39 of the U.S. Code:

..................................

The new Postal Service officially began operations on July 1, 1971, when the Postmaster General ceased to be a member of the President’s Cabinet. The Postal Service received:

Operational authority vested in a Board of Governors and Postal Service executive management, rather than in Congress.

.........................
https://about.usps.com/who-we-are/le...-governors.htm

Quote:
The governors are chosen to represent the public interest generally and cannot be representatives of special interests.

Not more than five of the nine may belong to the same political party.

They shall be chosen solely based on their experience in the field of public service, law or accounting.

However, at least four of the governors shall be chosen solely based on their demonstrated ability in managing organizations or corporations (in either the public or private sector) that employ at least 50,000 employees.

At the end of the day its all moot
USPS set the prices, not Amazon, so they can change them if they don't like the deal. If they do Amazon will probably move more mail to UPS and FedEx and as i said they will open their own service and all mailing companies will lose out thanks to CHUMP opening his great pie hole.

He should stick to what his good at lying and fucking over subcontractors !!

Trump is dead wrong about the USPS. There has been some Wall Street analysis that of course shows the Post Office is losing money. But it's not because of Amazon.
The Amazon deal is profitable for the Post Office.

And they aren't the only ones with mass shipping deals. Most every online mainstream business of any size has those deals with not only USPS but also FedEx and UPS.

I don't pay shipping when I buy gear from big online music stores for instance...and they ship UPS and FedEx.

This is personal shit between Trump and Bezos over Bezos using the Washington Post to go after Trump. (The Washington Post put 25 reporters on exclusive duty to do nothing but dig up dirt on Trump...led by Carl Bernstein).

He cost Amazon several billions in stock by tweeting what he did. Dumb thing to do.

During the campaign, Bob Woodward stated that they had 20 people or so exclusively on Trump. Trump was, as a candidate, relatively unknown. They had a lot of digging to do.

That does not mean they maintain that kind of coverage on him now.

They also had all the other candidates covered too.

That does NOT mean that you are wrong about the source of Trump's irritation with Bezos. It definitely could be the reason.

As Woodward stated at the time:

Quote:
He said that Bezos has urged the Post to run as many stories on Trump and the other candidates so that voters can't say they didn't know about the eventual president.

"He said, 'Look the job at the Washington Post has to be tell us everything about who the eventual nominee will be in both parties, 15 part, 16 part series, 20 part series, we want to look at every part of their lives and we're never going get the whole story of course but we can get the best attainable," said the famed reporter.

Shouldn't surprise you. I've said since day one that I agree with Trump's economic, trade, and foreign policy ideas for the most part.

I don't agree with anybody 100% of the time.

For instance: I've been against a "wall" from the beginning when Pres. Clinton talked about the need for a border wall in the 1990's... all the way to Senator Shumer, Senator Clinton, and Senator Obama all voting for the "Secure Fence Act of 2006"... right up to Trump's call for a wall today.

Actually, I do not remember and cannot find a valid reference to Bill Clinton ever calling for a border wall.

He did call for stronger border control, but not a wall.

The references to Him and a border wall all seem to point to what I think is his 1995 State of the Union address and he does not mention a wall in there at all, although you would not know it by the titles of the articles or the youtube videos which do claim he said something he did not say.

Here is the actual transcript of what he said, a link to the CSpan video is on that page too.:

From: https://www.c-span.org/video/?c46529...-building-wall

Quote:
All Americans, not only in the States most heavily affected but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers. That's why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders more by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as ever before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens. In the budget I will present to you, we will try to do more to speed the deportation of illegal aliens who are arrested for crimes, to better identify illegal aliens in the workplace as recommended by the commission headed by former Congresswoman Barbara Jordan. We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.

The most important job of our Government in this new era is to empower the American people to succeed in the global economy. America has always been a land of opportunity, a land where, if you work hard, you can get ahead. We've become a great middle class country. Middle class values sustain us. We must expand that middle class and shrink the under class, even as we do everything we can to support the millions of Americans who are already successful in the new economy.
This is the YOUTUBE video of it. The title states that Bill Clinton demands that we build a wall but he never mentions a wall anywhere in there that I could find.

Only a nazi would think it's OK for middle class folks to pay their hard-earned wages to the richest guy on the planet because you think their dumb for participating in the democratic process.

your skinhead style suits your ideology.

you may not believe in racial hierarchy, who knows, but you most certainly believe in class hierarchies and believe in punishing those you deem less than yourself intellectually and financially.

Classic nazi idealism. Your nazi grandparents would be proud.

You might be correct on that detail...but it doesn't change my point. I didn't agree with any of this crap about sealing off the border to Mexico.

The only violence that occurs from the Mexican border is 100% the blame of the United States Govt. "War On Drugs".

It's exactly the same scenario as alcohol prohibition. Only thing is that during the stupid Alcohol Prohibition it made Italian mobsters rich as hell and also they used actual machine guns for their bloodbaths.

Change out Italian for Mexican and machine guns for hand guns and it's the same stupid thing.

The U.S. govt. trying to rule over people's personal lives.
We heard for years that if Marijuana were made legal it would be a disaster...instead it's working out great here in Nevada and other states.

One thing is for sure...if people want to do cocaine or anything else...they are going to do it. Making it illegal just creates giant problems and makes everybody a criminal.

Get the govt. out of our personal lives...they have no business telling you or I what we can or can't put in our bodies.
Once that is done, the insane profits for smuggling drugs and fighting over territory would end.

Anyway, that's always been my position on that. The actual people from Mexico who come here to work are the hardest working people I've ever met.

It's the drug cartels that were formed BECAUSE of our govt.'s attempt to control all of us that has caused any and all problems at our border.

Bezos should call him out! Challenge him to release his personal and corporate tax returns to see who has paid more taxes

Amazon has already made moves for doing their own deliveries.. In major cities they deliver a lot of their own shit. They sub contract out to small companies running vans.

They also now haul a lot of their own shit as freight. They used to use FedEx and Ups to do a lot of their regional runs but now days you see more and more Amazon 53ft trailers on the road.

Trump is dumb AssPimple is a fucking retatd

Personally, I think CNN, NYT, WP should all go together and use Trump over used of govt office to attack their companies. Amazon could jump in as well but likely best if it's the News orgs..

Trump has attempted to use the Presidential Office to attack their business, not to mention tne free press. That's illegal.

It's gone on long enough, it's personal attacks at this point and its illegal to even be a Mayor and use your position to attack companies or people out of spite.

I think its about time EVERYONE realizes that CHUMP is not only a lier, an uneducated twat and a narcissist, but also a coward. He tweets out shit that he doesn't have the guts to say to someones face, take all the twitter firings that this gutless fuck has done lately. He hides behind Twitter spewing out vitriol and when confronted backs down and does a 180.

The saying "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" applies to this asshole 100%

Speaking of duped...

https://www.trumpstore.com/
https://www.ivankatrump.com/

Neither collect tax, both use USPs, Ivanka also offers Amazon checkout, incidentally Amazon is the largest outlet for her goods.

I wonder what cooperate rate they have for USPs?

Trump is a stupid fuck as usual.. Amazon pays less because they transport the packages themselves to local distribution points then hand it off to the local post offices.. They are the only company that can do that on the scale they do which is why they get a better price than other large shippers.

Not to mention bulk...
