Thinking of getting a second dog, Please recommend breed you like

The title says it all, I've had a Mastiff, a great Dane and a few bastards. Not sure what to get. The current one is a bastard, and one of the best i've had. So recommend me the one you like...

Nice, I see you like animals. I got two German Shepherds, and I can't imagine spending time with any other breed, but that's just my 2 cents.

go to a shelter and adopt one...do not buy from breeders...as for what breed, mastifs and great danes are for experienced owners, you need to walk them a lot and they have tons of trouble when they grow old...all big heavy dogs do...if you want a low maintenance dog get a mix...

I'm partial to curley coated retrievers myself but they are hard to come across and longer waiting lists.

yeah none of that is true and all myth. All dogs and all breeds are just as susceptible to health variances like any other living creature. Whether you go to a breeder or not changes nothing. I have seen good things with shelters and I have heard horror stories with shelters. I have seen amazing things with top breeders and horrific things with top breeders with regards to practices and how they treat the animals.

I have a Frenchie, English Bulldog and a Beagle. LOVE the Frenchies attitude but they can have spine issues so probably not the best to have with playing with bigger dogs.

Never really liked small dogs. Unitl we got one for my son. She is a Chihuahua and adorable. Looks like a doberman and will attack anything 100 times her size.

With people she is very nervous but after a few minutes she warms up and loves you.

Does not really growl or bark at people unless they come into the yard.

I'd personally go with the GSD. Very smart, awesome protection. They are very good family dogs. They are highly intelligent and need to be stimulated both mentally and physically or they can get into shit they shouldn't. Another thing is they shed like crazy, so be prepared for lots of brushing and vacuuming.

Right now I have an Italian Greyhound. He's cute and he's a little mush ball who constantly craves your attention, but he's also a little nightmare. The IG has broken both legs so far (they are notorious for breaking them) which cost me $8k in vet bills, and he still (after 2 years) is still not fully housebroken. They HATE going out in any inclement weather. I'm talking if the wind is blowing too hard or it's sprinkling, they don't wanna go.

Currently have a pug and he's awesome

I've had a pitbull, golden retriever, cockerspaniel, and daschund but by far the best dog out of all these is the pug.

Can't go wrong with German shepherds as long as the dog gets regular exercise...

+1 for adoption. There are millions of homeless dogs who would love a good home. Contributing to breeders fuels their desire to continue breeding, which is good for no one.

It depends what you want the dog for - these 2 are working dogs, they have never been allowed in the house. ( Wirehaired Vizla )

They are intelligent loyal and very active.

Although I dont think I would want a Vizla for a house dog. I would get a Teckel.

Agreed. My Rottie is 4 and is 160lbs. He's European breed, not American. They have a shorter snout, squared off head and are usually more compact, more muscular and larger than their American cousins. But they can be expensive and hard to find.

Absolutely the best dog, calm, relaxed, rarely barks, loves people. Gentle with kids and other animals.

Downside, because if the short snout, his snoring is earth rattling.

A lot of people here keep wolf dogs. If you're afraid of being robbed or burgled. They will keep anything out. And good with kids.

Our neighbour has two.

They love to play, but the male one is jealous of my dog. The female likes him.

Yes, it's a must have for large dogs that like to pull a lot. My dog would choke himself and wouldn't stop for anything. He's 100+ lbs and Gentle Leader has worked great.
