I think not. The country will not amend the 2nd Amendment at this point and probably never will, so until then there will be an NRA. There are other things that can be done to protect schools though and there are other things that can be done in the mental illness area also. These things will cost money and until congress gets serious about this matter and appropriates the monies there will not be much done, but the shootings are taking place so frequently hopefully they will wake up and do their job.

this article highlights some news that reflects my view. Also, gen z will be voting age in 2020, they're sick of getting shot up at school and are already politically active and getting more so.

I don’t think we need an amendment. There is wiggle room to regulate the bearing of arms. We have successfully done it in some states.

Not in any states that I am aware of. Guns are legal to own and to carry, if one wants to go thru the trouble to get a CC permit, in every state in the union.

Cosmetic restrictions and/or magazine size does not make a big difference in practice and are mostly "feel good" restrictions.

Yeah we have a whole generation of kids now that grew up scared they're going to be shot in school and they will not vote for that to continue for their children they will change this and they will vote everyone out of office who refuses to do so.

I agree, assault weapons are a small part of the problem. although the tragic use of them in school shootings is horrific.

a ban just drives up the price. for someone that wants a gun hell you can print one! they hold up nicely. i even seen printed assault rifles with a 75 round drum. they fire and hold up. you can't ban shit! get to the real problem. kids are having issues and there is nobody there to help them through their issues. that white kid that killed his mom and those kids. his mother kept him away from his father. he did not abuse him she was just being evil.

i tend to agree. All of the assault weapon shootings in California prove the bans don't work on kids or adults.

My children are all learning to handle all sorts of firearms. And from the looks of the classes they are in, I’d have to say that Gen X being of voting age doesn’t have much to do with anything and it won’t.

you're right, there are groups of upcoming voters who believe in firearms, i've read about them. I respect their views, and applaud their participation in the democratic process. I do think the anti-gun violence group will be a bigger voting block but I don't have anything to base that on, it's my gut feeling on the matter.

Every kid should be familiar with guns, and he/she just has to be taught to never use them against civilians. I was trained to shoot with guns from about 10 year old (I started with a .22 LR pistol), and the fist thing I've got: never aim a gun to a human even if you think your gun is not loaded up and there is no cartridge in the barrel.
