80% of AMERICANS have heard of BITCOIN

This is great news for BTC (and crypto by extension). Familiarity is key to PERCEIVED VALUE

The next step is for them to understand, at least on a very basic level, what it is and how it works.

I have a lot of friends who have heard of bitcoin, not one of them knows anything about it.

who are you kidding dude, "heard" doesn't mean shit, yea, 80% heard about it on the news... of those 1% understood what it means, and 1% of those actually took any steps to "invest" in it.... and 1% of those succeeded when they found out they can't just buy bitcoins with a cc easily..... so at best 0.00001 give any shit about bitcoins when all is said and done.....

Np I wasn't calling anyone specifically, but even Warren Buffet, a genius most of his life, definitely not well taught on Bitcoin. Probably from being too old and stubborn.

In all honesty would you want your mom’s retirement in it? It is shady, and it is super hard to keep secure. I think security is the hardest part and what has kept it off the mainstream this whole time. Credit cards are still easier,

Is the payment method a bit complicated? Well customers will use the less complicated method because they are lazy...the end...

Bitcoin is mainstream and fully legal now, but i think due that there is chance how bitcoin will never skyrocket in value again to 20k$ level, as usually when something is regulated cannot be manipulated in that way.

I agree, banks are easier, credit cards are easier.

As for security, no doubt Bitcoin is best option. Nobody can steal your BTC unless you make mistake, (ie leave your privkeys for the maid to find). Banks/CC's can be secure or insured, but have you ever experienced a moment where you're stuck with no access to money/finance because your bank froze your account due to anti-fraud, for traveling internationally? Have you had your Bank (in my case Paxum) account compromised and scammers spending your funds? Thats not fun, accounts frozen! Bitcoin is a safer alternative to these scenarios.

Some of us don't want anything to do with banks, so this is an opportunity for us to be our own bank.

Yep! I've had issues them with all. Various US bank accounts cannot use because overseas is flagged and accounts locked for anti-fraud protection, even though gave them travel locations/dates. And yes, had Epass and Paxum accounts both compromised. Also Epass (closed down), Paxum (no USA allowed), Payoneer/FirstChoicePay (no USA allowed) all accounts closed.

Bitcoin is permissionless/Trustless, no 3rd party can interrupt any of your transactions. If you control your own privkeys, there no way your "accounts can be closed". Bitcoin doesn't care which citizen you are too btw

If you are US citizen and never leave the USA then you'll probably be fine, only problem there is you losing out for holding any fiat in your bank accounts via inflation.
