Trump bans 737 MAX 8, 737 MAX 9 planes

because he cares. ♥

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tru...airlines-crash

President Trump said the FAA will announce later Wednesday the grounding of two Boeing 737 Max jets, one model of which was involved in the fatal Ethiopian Airlines crash that killed 157 people.
Trump said both the Boeing 737 Max 8 and 737 Max 9 models will be "grounded upon landing" at their destinations.

I think this is a good thing.

However, I disappointed the United States wasn't one of the first to do this. Why didn't the FAA do this a few days ago?

absolutely, especially after every other country has...

although, understanding, the MAX8 has a system different to the older planes. They´re saying that if the pilot hasn´t been introduced to this, when the plane is put into an automatic dive, the nose needs trimming up, this can`t be done using the manual stick & elevators, it´s a seperate trim button.

And yes, all because of this, could be the reason for over 300 deaths on the 2 flights that have crashed recently

That's my point. All other countries did this before the United States did, and when we did instead of the FAA doing it the President had to do it himself. Something is wrong with that. I think the FAA should have done this a few day ago, shortly after the second crash.

Because the whitehouse is 24/7 preoccupied and the president has "appointed" do nothings to run the FAA

Because the CEO of Boeing asked Trump not to ground the planes.. However after every other country in the world grounded them it would be pretty hard to excuse away having one crash here in the US...

well yes, while this sounds like a serious problem, tbh, the American airlines who have purchased this plane, probably, would have had training.

the new engines are LEAP engines, they´re bigger and create some problems for the management system...

so yes, while this is a problem, for a pilot that knows how to adjust the system while flying, it´s not a problem. The problem is of boeing´s, because the alteration of the engine and management system, however, if trained was given, I have heard it´s possible none of these accidents would have happened.

Pilots need retraining to deal with new planes & not necessarily these planes grounded
