How do browsers save searches?
Greetings GFY geniuses,
How does a browser remember your search history? Is it saved in a file and if so, what is the name of the file for each browser? (asking for a friend)

I'm not sure if it works that way or not... I've always understood it that google recognizes your browser and keeps records at their end?
Well at least with Chrome anyway, if you are logged into your google account while browsing... |

Somehow I thought that a search would be saved in a local file or a cookie or something like that... not true?

Undecided lol I thought the cookie identified the browser and the search info remained 'in house' at google, but I could well be completely wrong. It's NOT my area of expertise at all...
