Finding an unsecured piece of content on a single page of a website?

OK, so I have a simple website (Just html - No scripts) and I've just 'forced' https via .htaccess

Front page is fine, as are all the other pages BAR ONE... Ive looked at that page in dreamweaver, and can't see any reason for this page not playing ball. I dont think I'm linking to anything 'outside' of the site (Graphics etc) and I'm kinda stumped...

So my question is, is there an online tool, that will analyze that single page via a direct link, and tell me what the issue is?

Thanks

It's probably something as simple as an image referenced via http in a css file. Check your CSS files to see.

If you have a banner code embedded into there, check to see if the banner is being called via http instead of https.

ETA: in your browser, FF or Chrome, you can enter "Developer Mode" and likely trace it right in there as well.

Nah, def none of that. Whats weird is that I just tried using https://www.jitbit.com/sslcheck/
and while it did find a couple of 'orphaned pages' that I didn't think were accessible anywhere in the site, the main page that I am on about, didn't show up as having anything wrong with it!

I'm not using CSS files or anything - Its just a basic html site that I built back in 2008 and have not really touched since...

That's what I get from https://www.hubspot.com/ssl-checker

So if everything else seems to think its OK, and I think its OK, i'm just gonna ignore the fact that its my only page that doesn't say 'secure' and show the https...

Well I've sorted it... Somehow!!! lol

I deleted the orphaned pages as I didn't see any need for them to be on the server, and they were not linked directly from the page in question anyway, and... POW! All pages are now https://

I hate doing shit like this, cause I'm so rusty with dreamweaver, ftp, etc etc but at least thats done now...

in the future you can just use tools like gtmetrix.com or pingdom to see the waterfall chart and all of the files that load, in what order, how long they take and which ones are causing delays.

also you should message adobe and let them know that you're the last dreamweaver user. surely there's something in it for you.

lol

Well I retired from shooting and gave all my equipment away in 2013 and have not done anything new since

The site Im talking about is just a small site that showcases individual movies I made and where as I used to sell them direct from the site, I've since moved them over to C4S and just link to them now

Hence why I'm a bit out of date and rusty these days

You guys would be surprised how many people still use DreamWeaver...

I can't wait to bump into someone using AOLPress.

I was working with a younger friend who is a front end developer and also an mma fighter i coached a couple years ago. I remember the moment he asked "whats that?" when i had dreamweaver open and i said "dreamweaver" and he was irritated and shot back a smart ass response.

I paused for a moment and realized "oh, he's never heard of dreamweaver", and it just sounded like i responded to him with a random shitty, nonsense answer like "unicorn wishes"

So anyway, i just use FF developer browser and sublime text now.

Sublime is very functional, absolutely.

Believe it or not, I still use EditPad Classic (simple text editor from 90's) for quick, simple things and then EditPad Lite for most things. For more complex things, I just use EditPad Pro. I guess you could say I'm an EditPad longtime user/fan.

EditPad Lite/Pro is really great for search and replace functions, especially blocks of text/code across hundreds of files and then replacing it with other code. It's RegEx ability is great too, though regex can often frustrate the heck out of me.

Why would you need those sites when you can see them in chrome under the network tab
