Anyone know how they define rates for renewal of a domain name ( ex: namecheap )

I just paid $25 for each 2 domain renewal on namecheap.

Anyone know how they define rates for renewal of a domain ?

traffic stats ? DA/PA ? How the hell this work ?

Also what is the higher fee you've paid for a renewal ?

Im so glad to only run under 30 website

.com annual renewals shouldn't have cost you $25 at Namecheap. Were they 1-year renewals? What TLD were the 2 domains that you renewed? Are you paying for privacy protection or other upsells?

Namesilo has lower pricing, even with a handful of domains.

Im at namecheap, have been for over 10 years, and I just pay the same each time, regardless of the domain.

I Pay the same per domain name. Regardless of its traffic.

That's just three that are due to renew this month.

It's based on ICANN's fees and what that specific company decides to charge on top of that.

I've only got about 14 domains at NameCheap anymore. My other 150+ are all at NameSilo now.

The price is set by the registrar for for any particular TLD and the renewal is almost always more expensive then the original registration.

It does not appear that Namecheap makes it easy to find it's price list but there are some 3rd party sites that show price comparisons by tld.

https://www.domcomp.com/tld/co Shows the various .co prices being charged, not sure how accurate it is but it says the prices were updated an hour ago.

It looks like the cheapest .co renewal is dreamhost at $15.99/domain.

They also have comparison pages for each tld for registration, rebewal and transfer. https://www.domcomp.com/

I have most of my domains at namesilo but I have some at namecheap and uniregistry because namesilo does not cover all tlds.

Looks like they reduced the price for new registrations but increased the price for renewals. Last month I renewed a .com there and it was $9.79, now it's $12.98.

Well, their price list says .com renewals are $12.98 but if I try to renew some .com the price is still $9.79.

Maybe $12.98 is regular pricing and you have special discounted pricing due to the number of domains you have with them.
