UK people. Thoughts on the Caroline Flack suicide ??

Can't see any threads on here so far. Doubt anyone in America would really know her to be honest.

I was pretty shocked when I saw that this morning - I feel she was another victim of the vile celebrity culture we have in the UK...

The whole deal with the trial - WTF? - Nobody wanted the trial ESPECIALLY the alleged victim - She was not allowed to see her partner - They were still together and seemingly loved each other - It is a total farce! - The media are referring to it as a show trial - I agree - A bunch of assholes trying to make some sort of name for themselves.....

I could go on, but thankfully for everyone else I have to get ready for a doctor visit - I will be back to rant later though...

The hypocrisy of people on Twitter etc has been astounding, yet not really surprising in this day and age.

People have been getting caught all posting all the "RIP she didn't deserve any of this" stuff, yet when you search their posts the views from the same people were well, quite the opposite.

Social media is definitely toxic. Does much more harm than good...

I couldn't agree more! Social Media brings out the worst in people, and oh boy, is there a huge amount of bad in people nowadays!

It's a pretty popular show even over here. I liked her better than the current girl they call the Monk.

If a man had smashed a lamp over his girlfriend's head when she was asleep, how would people be reacting?

The law was changed so the CPS could prosecute cases when the victim wouldn't press charges.

I used to think the same thing about how the uk press ripped on Amy Winehouse.

To me it was obvious that she was gonna die one day.. Was like making fun of a very sick person. Sure enough, she died and had to be tormented along the way.

A fairly "high profile" celeb smashing her boyfriend over the head with a lamp, leaving the room looking like a bloodbath, was always going to make the news to be fair.

Had it been a Male tv star that did it no doubt the coverage would have been twice as bad.

So yes she didn't do herself any favours. What the MSM and social media do after that, well we all know what happens then.

Should it ? No.

Will it ever stop ? Probably not.

I have no idea who she was, nor who any of the people mourning her are.

I want a medal for that.

What's interesting is that the concept of the '27 Club' seems to have died with her.

For those of us who sustained ourselves through adolescence and early 20's with misplaced idealism, 27 or thereabouts is the age at which the scales fall from your eyes and reality kicks in. So for me, it was always totally understandable that 'misplaced idealists' might commit suicide at that age. But now that the development of popular culture has been arrested, and its collective IQ has been driven down, the "tortured artist" ideal isn't needed anymore and has been kicked to the curb. There are more effective ways of convincing intelligent white people to fall on their own sword.

Looking at the jewess Amy Winehouse, and the opposition to fertility that she represented, it's easy to see where feminism came from.

Better turn the macro back to the micro or you will Nietzsche yourself

It's all fractal anyway fella. More likely to make a discovery in your own backyard than any other location on the planet.

If it were a man they would be "screaming string him up". But as it's a woman she has to be forgiven and excuses found. The problem was hers and if she can't switch off social media she's even sadder than I thought.

Really Sad

Her death was certainly unexpected and sad. It impacted a lot of lives here in the UK. It's an insanely popular show despite its lack of quality. I'm glad it hasn't been for not and it's spurned a discussion on mental health. Perhaps the most surprising thing was JustEat taking a night off of advertising so they could replace the adverts with mental health messages. I didn't see that coming. They spend millions advertising on the show. It seems their spots appear twice every break.

"For a lot of people, being arrested for common assault is an extreme way to have some sort of spiritual awakening but for me it's become the normal.

"I've been pressing the snooze button on many stresses in my life - for my whole life. I've accepted shame and toxic opinions on my life for over 10 years and yet told myself it's all part of my job. No complaining.

"The problem with brushing things under the carpet is they are still there and one day someone is going to lift that carpet up and all you are going to feel is shame and embarrassment.

"On December the 12th 2019 I was arrested for common assault on my boyfriend. Within 24 hours my whole world and future was swept from under my feet and all the walls that I had taken so long to build around me collapsed. I am suddenly on a different kind of stage and everyone is watching it happen.

"I have always taken responsibility for what happened that night. Even on the night. But the truth is... It was an accident.

"I've been having some sort of emotional breakdown for a very long time.

"But I am NOT a domestic abuser. We had an argument and an accident happened. An accident. The blood that someone SOLD to a newspaper was MY blood and that was something very sad and very personal.

"The reason I am talking today is because my family can't take anymore. I've lost my job. My home. My ability to speak. And the truth has been taken out of my hands and used as entertainment.

"I can't spend every day hidden away being told not to say or speak to anyone.

"I'm so sorry to my family for what I have brought upon them and for what my friends have had to go through.

"I'm not thinking about 'how I'm going to get my career back.' I'm thinking about how I'm going to get mine and my family's life back."
This was an Instagram message she wrote shortly before she died, she was advised not to post it - She did send it to her mum and she has released it...

It certainly raises a few questions.....
