**WARNING** about Sensational Cash

I know there have been warnings before, but just to tell my story and alert anyone new who is unaware.

Saw a thread on gfy saying problems with payments. I was missing one so emailed and asked, said he sent it. In due course got a payment.

Got a notice from the bank saying check bounced. Looked at the check dated 01/20/10

So thanks Brandon.

Pay me now please. I have sent you fair joins and have made you money. Why can't I be paid?

Well ok then.

I love their plumper content and was gonna put it to use in the next day or so.

Guess that's not gonna happen.

Can anybody give us an update on the issue with Sensational Cash payments? I want to know if they are worth promoting or not.

I got my last check after some difficulties, which I think were resolved. Contacted brandon a few days ago via email and requested another check. Brandon says he sent it to accounting. Will post when I get paid.

Thanks for the warning.

But when did you cash in the check and how old was it?
You do realize that some checks become void after 180 days?

He resent the check, after a lot of fucking around with emails back and forth. I put the check to the bank, usually they give me money in 2 days. But this time they have sent back for collection, coz they knew it might bounce again. could take 6 weeks. I also had some other checks in the bunch, so he kind of fucked up my cash flow in the past couple of weeks.

So as of yet I don't know if it will bounce or not.

He also is rude on email, seeing as I am the one doing the promotion and him the favour one would think a little sincerity and kindess might go a long way.
Sadly not.

Anyway fingers crossed this time!!

SensationalCash has paid us on time every month for years by very large check and never once have I had to call on an invoice or had a problem depositing. I'm not familiar with your situation, sounds like you deposited a very old check. Most businesses void after a certain number of months.

In as much as some troll will come in here to say that of course hosts always get paid first... As much as I would like that to be true it is certainly not. In fact, I would say that often hosts are first to spot a deadbeat or forthcoming business demise.

These guys continue to produce fresh, quality BBW content and lead that space. Very recently I was on the phone discussing strategy for improved mobile delivery, etc. I do not think there is reason for concern here for anyone. The economy certainly affects all facets of the industry but I don't see anything in my interactions with them out of the ordinary. They continue to work to improve their business, produce fresh content, improve delivery, pay our bill on time, their traffic grows consistently... They thrive within a niche market. There are many companies whose "stock" in would give a downgraded rating - SensationalCash is not on my radar, not one I would lump in that category.

Best of luck

Brad

It's just like any business that has accounts payable/receivable

Some of your accounts send you a check like clockwork, you never even think about those accounts

Other accounts drag their feet a bit.

It's just the nature of the beast. THe problem may not be with the program itself, it could just be in accounting

They do pay some affiliates and if you are one of the lucky ones like the big review sites etc. that have clout and could damage their name, you will be paid. Otherwise it's like flipping a coin, so be warned!

I've gone many years without having one late check (although not this year). If companies want to pay on time, they will. I expect my payment to be ON TIME. I do not want to have to fuck around with hitting people up and begging for my money.

If programs could mostly send payments on time for the last ten years then there is no excuse for them not doing so in 2010. A legitimate sponsor who knows how to properly run a business should have no problem with this. IMO, anyone "dragging their feet" needs to be dropped. And if someone gets rude when you nicely ask for your money then you need to tell them where to go because you shouldn't have to ask in the first place.

And btw, not paying your affiliates is more like a business not being able to make payroll to it's employees than it is not being able to pay an invoice for a good or service (such as hosting). The affiliate sent the sales, the sponsor has the revenue, so the affiliate needs to be paid their cut as agreed.

Frasier said it...

i've recently come to the state of mind that keeping an eye on payments & programs is just part of the job. i don't expect them all to screw me. but i always watch my own back as if they all would. commend the sponsors that pay on time, chase down the ones that 'forgot', drop the ones that don't.

frankly, we're not their employees, just like they're not our bosses. it's a business agreement. either party can term the agreement at any time. and if you owe them money, all you can do is sue.

if you've ever worked for a small or medium sized company, they are always chasing down money they are owed, getting paid late, getting partial payments, etc etc. but the same company that is stiffing the small business will always make sure their rent or insurance or whatever is paid.

i'm NOT saying that affiliate programs should start making us all invoice them and then pay us 30 days later. i just think the whole 'you better pay me on time every time or else' attitude we affiliates carry around is a little inflated

This is not the same. This should be considered PAYROLL. I understand how vendors pay and all that. But this is not the same thing whatsoever. You don't tell your employees you cant give them a paycheck when they are supposed to get it because accounting sucks.

Well I'm not advocating bad mouthing a sponsor for being a week late or every once in a while having a late payment or a lost check. There's a certain expectation of being reasonable and professional which goes both ways after all. But if they are doing it all the time or are many weeks late I don't think that should be tolerated.

we agree here. but as sponsors/companies have proven to us many times this year, they can tell us to cram our expectations up our ass, and we really can't do much more about it other than what any other small biz, contractor, freelancer would do, which is sue or send em to collections.

well that + post on GFY

I'm not afraid to do that. In fact I'd just as well send traffic to someone else rather than have to hit them up and beg for my money every month. It's too much hassle. I notice people are different though. I hate contacting sponsors for anything unless I have no choice but that's just the way I am.

oh hell yes. i dropped like 5-6 sponsors this year. actually i was phasing out another one today.

between missing checks and conversions 'drying up' for no reason it's easier for me to just swap those links out. plus it makes me feel like a badass

Affiliate programs are giving you the illusion of being part of the porn industry, hence you should be the one paying...
