Ads are giving bad Google PageSpeed Insights score

Any one else is having the issue that the chatburbate embed script takes a large chunk in the "Remove Unused Javascript" section of Google PageSpeed Insights?

Other ads also give me bad scores as some of them have a bad .png encoding score, uses .gif to serve the ads,..

My website is 90/100 with ads disabled, and 28/100 with ads enabled.

Does anyone have a solution for this? I'm scared that this can affect SEO.

It's a normal thing with any third-party code, it can screw your PS score. But dont think you need to bother yourself too much with it, as you are probably not only one running same code.
It is kind like deciding to run site with or without ads - without ads, you get better bounce rate and more traffic, but then you are not making any money.

Well what I want is more traffic and earn more cash, which is why I want to try to find a solution for it.

I think Google is very strict about page speed lately, especially since it started prioritizing mobile.

Why don't you experiment?

Set up two new domains (or subdomains on existing domains, if you don't want to spend money). Launch them at the same time, give them the same backlink profile. On domain/subdomain A, run the slow sponsor embed ads. On domain/subdomain B, make your own creatives to send traffic to same sponsor.

Monitor the traffic for next 12 months. Check the results. Which one gets the most SE love? Which one makes the most revenue? Maybe, the faster one gets more SE love but earns less money. Maybe, it doesn't.

Like Klein said, ultimately only the bottom line matters.

Of course. But on the long run and ranking in Google, it can really help if you play nicely by Google's rules.

Like I mentioned before, I want to have a good score and and have ads on the site.

I think it may help if you host most of the ad scripts on your own domain that is all triggered by the same javascript. I'll have to do research and see if I can find such a platform to install, and if it doesn't exist then maybe I should develop one myself.

Good luck with it.

Some of my best sites have the score of around 50 for mobile and they rank well so I would stress too much about it.
